yes, i used to do commerce it's heavily dependent on your major - it can be marketing to finance

maths in actuarial, they brush over some of the actual maths - in maths, you learn the foundations

i dont get it disadvantages and advantages are personal things - we need to know more about you before we can say stuff about it like we don't even know what commerce major you're going for and that really hinges on a lot of things, and same with maths major

i think you assume employers will test you technically on your knowledge they usually don't they recognise that university already tests you, so they look at your marks - you can say you self-taught it but it's more of a hassle for them to see if it's true unless it's something people usually...
