Generally Y10 phys and chem is a preview of Y11 - I think its find to start without it but it might be slightly harder

the volume of a torus is ((pi)r^2)(2(pi)r). Just not sure if you're allowed to use it. I know that if vol. of solids of resolution gives u a sphere or a cone or stuff ur allowed to use formulas then but not sure about this.

maybe just try practice untimed then slowly cut down on your time until u can do it in the time limit. I did this to practice for AR and got 890 so it was pretty chill

Hmm i think this might be old syllabus stuff not sure if they expect you to calculate non centred circles for volume of solids of rev. I think its gonna be a donut (torus) so there might be a mathematical formula. go shore

I'm pretty sure that it only doesn't count if your extension 2 is worse than your maths advanced after scaling, which I reckon will be highly unlikely if ur doing MX1 already.

Personally I would recommend dropping SOR2 cos the OP scaling of MX2 will probably help MX2 count more towards your ATAR - I'm pretty sure an E3/4 in MX2 is equivalent to a high band 6 in Maths Advanced.

I would recommend doing both cos it’ll take a lot of stress off in mid years if u know the content of the first few topics well

I think dr du is kinda overrated. I just went there cos they were giving free money for state ranks. They paid me $2800 for coming 2nd in mx2 and i quit after 2 terms so I think I made a profit. I left cos they didn't really mark ur work properly

Thanks! I only had english tutoring cos it was a bit harder for me - most of the time i just studied with friends / by myself. I didn’t really amp up study that much before trials / hsc cos i did that in Year 11 end of years and got super burnt out and stressed.

I did like 1-2 hours weekdays and 3-4 hours on weekends and holidays. It wasn’t too much but it was very productive.

That’s probably for rural entry

UNSW i think is like 90-95%+ cos they have ATAR as well
