    UMAT Percentiles?

For UWS, the min. requirements to get into an interview is S1 + S2 > 128 What does this mean, isn't UMAT out of 134? Thanks. And what would be the raw scores for S1 and S2 to get this?

    Australian Maths Competition

Anyone doing it this year? It's sad that it's the day after UMAT as I'll be burned out, but hopefully I get at least HD this year, and hopefully a prize!

    Inverse Function question

The function has an inverse because it is a one to one function. Use Desmos if you want to see what it looks like. Find the inverse function and find where the domain lies. One approaches 0 - and the other approaches infinity+ GL

    Question about integration

I just always assumed it was positive, I never got an integration q where the answer was plus minus

    Question about integration

It should just be positive. What do you mean by domain, you assume that the angle is acute when you want to draw the triangle. EDIT: If you're talking about Pythagorean, distance is always positive.

    Economics or Business Services (VET)?

Haha I did both of those electives in year 9 and 10. You're still young, so your idea of Finance and Economics is still really narrow. You should persue Economices instead of Business Services. Go look at the HSC papers and you'll realise that Economics is a lot of theory that can be readily...

    Question about subject selection

Don't base your subjects on what you want to do in university. It doesn't matter at all. English Extension 1 is really different from English Advanced. Requires more critical understanding, but in a way, it's easier than Advanced (less boring). It's not hard doing 3U Maths + 3U English...

    subject selection for y11 ??

3 social sciences are quite a bit, make sure you can cope with it. There is a lot of work involved. Economics and Business Studies is a fine combination, but you need to make sure you achieve in the top ranks for Business if you want a higher ATAR, since it scales relatively less compared to...

    Cadetships 2017

Not really. The thing is, you have nothing to lose if you apply. So just apply to all that you wouldn't mind doing, but even apply to the ones which you aren't interested in for the interview experience. Having experienced a 1 on 1 interview and phone interview helps set me up for future...

How many hours of sleep do you need to function for the HSC?

I may sound arrogant, but hear me out. http://sleepyti.me/ Everyone is different of course, but try sleeping for 3 hours and 6 hours, and you'll notice that there isn't much change in your alertness. Following the pattern of the sleep cycle is more important than actually going to bed early...

    Cadetships 2017

It's a cadetship, doesn't mean you'll do tax for your life. You can always internally transfer to other divisions. Although I admit tax doesn't have the best exit opps.
