Like pokka said, across all degrees if you are to overload more than the degree requirements/restrictions you will need the faculty's permission to overload credit points or to study a unit without the prerequisites having been met (though I heard it was rare this option).

Yes, but it can be a painful and difficult process. Get the unit coordinator to exempt you from the pre-reqs to do the unit if you have a valid enough proof that you can take on the unit eg. grades. It's a special consideration like form you can find at the faculty offices. :) All the best.
