    State Ranks in Maths

Speaking from personal experience as someone who state ranked 2U in 2015 (I realised that's almost 10 years ago...), my marks were HSC - 100 Exam - 100 School - 100 However, I knew walking out of the test that I got one question wrong. This means my raw exam mark was 99 which then got scaled to...

    4u maths

You can spend as little as you need, as long as you are solid enough to apply the concepts in 3U and 4U. The analogy is they teach you integration in 2U but you'll need to know it for 3U and definitely 4U. I was lucky to accelerate 2U but I know many of friends did not and it was more stressful...

    Post Trials

I found trial papers helps but under exam conditions and keeping a log of questions / techniques that you got wrong. The exam condition helps with thinking under stress (its a skill and I try to tell my students to do it). Now do they listen ... :)

Using out of syllabus techniques for HSC

Perfectly acceptable if its correct and mathematically sound. However, my school teacher deducted marks when I used a method taught at tutoring and it cost me a rank. Definitely ask your school teacher first, but for HSC its anything goes.

do you agree with the decision to remove euler's formula from the syllabus?

Ridiculous, Eulers is the link between complex and exponentials. There are many things that can easily be solved with exponents than a binomial expansion ... NESA come on

math tutoring for ext1 maths y11+12

I can definitely understand the worry about staying ahead in a selective school. Was there a teacher that particularly motivates you and engages you? As scary as it sounds, it may help to stick with the program and trust that learning takes time. I know because I have tutor ADHD :)

Looking to go maths tutoring - Talent 100, Dr Du or Mr Ye?

Simple. Competition drives innovation and knowledge growth. The space race is a great example of how competition has advanced technology at unprecedented rates. Is NGO and Sons good?

I've been to Ngo & Sons a while back (2016) and I remember it being really good. Yes, my first time was scary and after Dr Truong spoke to us I was really nervous. However my mum was adamant so I tried it out. And boy I was wrong. They are strict, yes, but this is strictness out of respect. We...
