I agree 100%. Also studying and going over your notes through the year can save you a lot of stress and time at the end of prelims. That’s really all there is to it tbh

No. They’re more of a practice run so you can get a feel for trials & final HSC exams, but they don’t contribute at all to your ATAR.

I don’t think I sat the same paper as you, but all my prelims have been easy so far it’s so weird. I was expecting a really intensive exam with all of our year’s content, but it was probably 1/3 of the syllabus for most of my subjects. You can get a good ATAR with any subjects. As long as you succeed and work hard, you will get a 90+ ATAR. As long as you do subjects you do well in and enjoy, any combination of subjects will lead to success.

I know you said you already are staying in Standard, but I think a good word of advice is to really work on your English skills so that you excel and can get a better ATAR. Don’t worry too much about the extra ATAR, since you can get a good ATAR with any combination of subjects, even English...
