    Projectile motion question

ii) Use the fact that the two particles reach the same max height and solve the equation \dfrac{V^2\sin^2\theta}{2g} = \dfrac{25V^2\sin^2 \dfrac{\theta}{2}}{18g} iii) This is pretty simple. It's a common type of question that I'm sure you know how to do. Remember to use the result in the...

No HELP: Uni students who fail half their subjects to lose taxpayer support

Should be fine if they obviously do it the right way, making sure there's no external factors influencing the grades such as Mental health etc. I presume people would be given an opportunity to prove this. I don't mind the decision. As it is no students under normal circumstances should be...

    ATAR - Would u Rather

Coming last in JR in everything would probably get you an Atar in the 60s or 70s but first in everything in a 200+ school you could do better imo.

    should I do extension 2?

Why not both? Always better to take both and then if you feel like you can't cope with both of them together drop one. Usually not many people take Ext 2 English iirc even if they're good at English, but that's just what Iv'e heard.

    Accelerated classes

On the official NESA website, in their PDF it clearly states you are allowed to resit exams within a 5 year time period without a penalty so yes you are legally according to NESA allowed to resit an exam you did in year 11 again in year 12. If NESA states it your principal probably isn't just...

    Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread

That's a pretty selfish reason tbh.

If i know my moderated internal's, can i work out what i need to get in the HSC exams to get a B6?

Yes of course but knowing exactly how much your marks will be moderated by is really difficult. Unless you're at like a top 5 school where they are pretty much always consistent every year.

    Silly Mistakes in Maths

This is a true fact I'm not even kidding. The way I got over silly mistakes (mine were just calculation errors) is to use the calculator for anything and everything. Literally even 2 * 2 I would do on a calculator and this saved me soo many marks in year 12 because it just became muscle memory...

how should i be studying for trials

Same. I did that all throughout year 11 and 12. Screw those easy as Maths in Focus exercises!

how should i be studying for trials

Nope I never wrote notes for any subjects except English where you kind of have to. Notes I feel most people use so they can memorize easier and also understand the concepts with much ease. I noticed quite early that I had a good memory and I was able to grasp the concepts in my subjects pretty...

how should i be studying for trials

All my marks were at the least above 85 and yeah I did past papers only. No notes no homework or anything else. Also depends on the subjects. For memorization heavy subjects I literally would just grab a textbook or Matrix's notes and memorize them day by day.

how should i be studying for trials

You really should be doing more if your aim is to get 80s or 90s. You really need to do lots of past papers because under time pressure is when you truly see if you understand what your doing or not.

    Advice on "Memorising" Content

For hardcore memorizing I would just grab a textbook and read straight out of it. The way I found best to memorize would be to read a paragraph and then read the next paragraph. After I've read the next paragraph I would recite the prev paragraph and if I missed anything I would read it again...

    Advice on "Memorising" Content

^ This was me as well OP. I pretty much wrote nothing for any of my subjects except Maths and English. I did all the questions in my head and would look at the sample answer to check if I had remembered all the important points. I believe this helped me save a LOT of time and paper and plus it...

How can I improve my maths and how do I know "you are correct".

I think he means the unpublished Cambridge book that gets used exclusively in Sydney Grammar because the author Bill Pender is/was the head math teacher there. It's considered a godly textbook because the questions are really really good.

I want to repeat year 11

This! You can improve so so so much from year 11 to 12. I know people that went from failing to getting a band 6. Figure out what your doing wrong and create a game plan to do better next time.

    Physics Dynamics Q

Yeah be careful mate! Make sure you know when you can use each one.

    Physics Dynamics Q

I gotcha Split the question up into 3 parts. Part 1: The dart is going through the tube. Part 2: The dart is moving and collides with the block. Part 3: The dart and block system move together For part 1: Recall the formula of Work done and write it out for this question which is trivial: FL...

    Math Help please

You mean the formatting in the post? It's called LaTeX a text formatter/editor and it's inbuilt into this website. It's very very helpful for university where your assignments have to look like professional papers.
