Some primary schools let you do work experience if you ask nicely. I don't know of any official programs though.

Definitely keep an eye out on your uni's internal careers/student jobs webpage. Uni pay is greeeeaaaaattttt and they love hiring student casuals, plus they're super accomodating towards your studies.

They will definitely see the fails and stuff but they usually acknowledge improvement and will base their decision on your recent marks

Depends on your course. With humanities it's usually possible to do 2 sub-majors/minors, not sure about STEM, etc.

You don't necessarily need to adhere to the recommended timetable. If you really want to change it, you should speak to your course advisor and ask if there are other classes you can do that would make your timetable for suitable for you.

Hard to ask for ideas because you can literally write about anything ever in the history of everything. The only thing to help you pick is the fact that you need to avoid cliches like high school, bullying, etc. It would be easier for you to shoot ideas out and ask if they're good or cliche

I'm at UWS and I know lots of peeps here who got an offer with <50. There are some who got in with mystery marks thanks to EAS applications as well
