    UNSW 17/S2 Official Results Thread

Content-wise: - It's essentially 95% qualitative and 5% quantitative. It's all about your ability to construct arguments. - 13 weeks worth of qualitative content does add up to a lot BUT you can 'BS' your way through in most circumstances. Ease-wise: - If you can't write (which applies to a...

    Summer Internships for 2018/2019

When should I apply or when are the applications released for 2018/19 summer internships? The Big 4 accounting firms and other accounting firms open their applications at the beginning of the year - around February/March. However, the Big 4 accounting firms also tend to do mid-year intakes...

    law school?

If you're interested in actual legal practice as of now, then definitely give Commerce/Law a shot. You may end up wanting to go into a commercial law firm like you intended after a few years of studying. But you could also easily end up in a different area of law (e.g. criminal law) or in a...

    law school?

Law isn't as bad as management consulting (MBB in particular) or investment banking when it comes to USYD/UNSW versus the rest. Assuming you mean the top-tier commercial law firms, they definitely have summer clerks and graduates who come from unis like UTS, MQ, UOW, etc. Don't forget that...

Should I self-teach myself the Finance topic during holidays?

Personally, I'd ask the teacher directly on what will be tested. I remember my Business Studies trials covering all 4 topics but there were certain parts of Human Resources (our 4th topic) that would NOT be tested. If your school writes its own trials, then your teacher should know what topics...

    Official UNSW S1 2017 Results

Yeah, it involves group work and the final exam really requires you to memorise a truckload of content. I'm an Accounting major but INFS1602 is like the worst mark for a few of my Information Systems degree/major friends who get Ds and HDs in all their other INFS subjects. Let's face it...

    Official UNSW S1 2017 Results

Equally as happy that I avoided a pass in Land Law. Getting a 65 instead of a 64. :haha:

    Official UNSW S1 2017 Results

I've done this for like so many law courses that it's not even funny. Traditional actuarial roles are hard to get but if you don't mind working in Big 4 or banks, it's not bad. Having high expectations isn't really selfish at all. That being said, I definitely would not survive in Law with...

    S1/17 WAM Predictions

It's unlikely that a subject was 'adjusted' and more likely that a subject(s) was added.

    S1/17 WAM Predictions

If my calculations are correct, turns out my individual Commerce WAM, indivdual Law WAM and overall WAM all went up by a tiny bit :haha:

    S1/17 WAM Predictions

Engineering Dean's List requires 75+ WAM There's also the Engineering Honour's List (I think it's called) which is different.

    S1/17 WAM Predictions

When your Commerce WAM goes up but your overall WAM will go down in the end. :(

Time spent studying to get a distinction or high distinction average?

Wouldn't fret. Know people with ATARs well below 97 who have ended up with solid D averages at uni. It honestly just depends on the course you take, the university you're at and other factors.

    S1/17 WAM Predictions

You can figure this out with some calculating but yes, for most people it is likely that not all courses have been added yet.

    S1/17 WAM Predictions

I think it's been 2 law subjects (based on speaking with my law mates) that've been added so far for me rather than 1 law + INFS1602.

    S1/17 WAM Predictions

I did Fed Con, Land Law, RCD and a Commerce subject. 2 subjects have been added for me. I'm thinking it's one of the Laws (Fed Con being least likely) and my Commerce subject.
