    Student research plan year 10

I remember doing an SRP in year 10 on measuring the levels of saturated fats in different cooking oils using iodine and determining which one was the healthiest. Learnt heaps of stuff along the way like carbon chemistry, structure of different fats, double bonds and addition reactions etc...

Re: HSC 2013 4U Marathon ahaha yeah, I got the curve equation out by inspection... if only it was that simple!

y=|sinx|? Edit: dunno if that's the right motion equation since I'm not sure how to incorporate the fact that 1 revolution = 1 second

Has a question on the Case Study come up in the HSC recently/does it come up often?

Re: Has a question on the Case Study come up in the HSC recently/does it come up ofte you never know it, might pop up in a random short answer question I guess. if it does come up in your HYs as an extended response (unlikely though, since the case study was already assessed before anyway)...

Don't give up lol, just prove those two angles are equal by using a few congruent triangles proofs :) Yep

That theorem still requires FOG to be collinear and since F and G lie on the intervals AO and OP by construction then you're saying that AOP are collinear oh wai- :p

Not that I'm doubting your method or anything but can you explain this step a bit more please? I don't quite follow :( Edit: why is angle CPT = angle EPT?

I get what you mean but I'm not sure if that proof is rigorous enough lol, (perhaps others can clarify this) Another way is to make a few constructions and do a little bit of angle chasing hehe :)

    HSC 2013 MX2 Marathon (archive)

I don't think you can consider triangle CPA since you are assuming AOP is collinear in order to add all those angles up :p

dw sy pretty much everyone at the unsw maths seminar thing made the same mistake at least once (even the uni students running it lol)

Re: HSC 2013 4U Marathon you just assumed AOP to be a straight line which is what you are trying to prove :p

Re: HSC 2013 4U Marathon dunno, got it from a maths revision seminar lol (wouldn't be surprised though)
