I needed a 97 for my course but aimed for 99+ anyway. You can definitely never be sure enough. I mean I don't mean to scare you but it is very possible to stuff up one exam due to misreading a question, not being in the zone on the day etc. So if youre aiming for your courses cutoff on the dot...

very very good chance. doubt the atar is 97. i've heard 96. if you really wanna do it keep it for all rounds

the HSC marks are set on a weird scale. basically 75-80 is the average, depending on the subject. your marks represent you being below the average for most subjects. those marks don't mean you got 75% in the actual exam though. depending on the subject, a 75 can be anywhere between 55-65% raw...

the converse of this is true too. don't think your ranks will save you, esp if you're at a comprehensive public school like i was. was pulling 95+ for eco all year then goofed an essay in the hsc and ended up with a 91. still good but i should've known to expected harder q's
