    complex numbrs

    Show that (z^5 - 1)/(z - 1) = z^4 + z^3 + z^2 + z + 1 Start off with your right hand side and consider the sum of a GP. Also show that (z^5 - 1)/(z - 1) = (z^2 - 2zcos(2pi/5) + 1)(z^2 - 2zcos(4pi/5) + 1) On the left hand side, we have (z^5 - 1)/(z-1). Try to factorise (z^5 - 1) into the form (z...

Ngo & Sons (Truong's) vs. PEAK vs. Uplift

Ngo & Sons does offer 4U Year 11 classes. They run 2 4U Year 11 classes at Fairfield. I've been to Ngo & Sons for English tutoring. The English tutoring really helped me. I was expecting a band 4 for English in year 11, but managed to get a high band 5 with their help, which was beyond my...

Ngo & Sons (Truong's) vs. PEAK vs. Uplift

I was a student at Ngo & Sons (I stayed with them from year 10 until the end of my HSC). I can say that Ngo & Sons is extremely good for Mathematics. Is Dr DU good?

I haven't been to Dr Du before, so I can't say anything about them. However, if you live near Fairfield/Parramatta, you may consider going to Ngo & Sons. They teach extension 1 mathematics really well :)

10 units with extension units allowed at this time of year?

10 units is better than 12 units if you know that you're not going to put in 100% effort in those 2 extra units.

    Tips on starting Yr 11

Like captainhelium said, year 11 is a 'practice-run' for the HSC. You must find the most efficient method of studying. This does not necessarily mean increase the quantity of study. This is how I studied throughout my HSC (during year 11, I found that these methods of study were the best...

    MX2 Marathon

Re: HSC 2018 MX2 Marathon $\noindent After expanding the expression given by InteGrand, you should get an expression in terms of $z^2$, $z^{-2}$, $z^4$ and $z^{-4}$. From here, you should try to include ($\star$) somehow. To do this, you would need some terms in the form $z^n+z^{-n}$, such...
