This. If you're spending more than 30 minutes on one question, I suggest you skip it and ask someone else for help (could be a friend, your tutor, teacher, etc.). Cost benefit yo. Time is very limited you know.

The course pack for MATH1131 should be sufficient enough for your learning of both calc and algebra streams. I doubt there will be a need to buy any extra materials, as the course pack has everything you will need.

Yeah FYI ASB deans list only applies to ASB subjects, very strictly speaking. You'd need to have also done 24 UOC of ASB subs throughout the year to qualify for deans list as well.

TBH friday if anything was a good time to go to o-week because it was pretty much the coolest day of the week :)

Surprised they were still giving out the free lipton ice tea around today. I wouldn't expect to see many freebies being distributed today though.

Freebies are less and less nowadays. Seems like sponsors either didn't like the o-week prospectus or chose to sponsor other larger events. O-weeks are eventually diminishing in terms of the atmosphere and the freebies. Better just to come in, get your student ID + concessions and leave, imo.

FYI Victoria and South Australia have IB schools that are also government schools, which is a good thing to see. I hope one day in New South Wales there will be IB government schools on offer.

If I had the chance, I'd definitely pick the IB over the HSC. Yes it will be harder than HSC but if you're planning to go onto university education doing a technical field, then all the first year subjects will highly overlap with the IB content that you have learned. Not only to mention that...
