    Prelim Chem Thread

I don't think so... but i think I figured it out myself. If it's an element that has an excess of electrons (lithium) then its got the electron on the right side and then if it's got a deficiency of electrons (bromine -1) then the electron is on the left in the equation.... also... what happens...

    Prelim Chem Thread

Can someone please tell me why when you're writing the equation for 'lithium ion from a lithium atom' it is Li -> Li(superscript +) + e- And then for Bromine its Br + e- -> Br(superscript -) Yeah so why is it that there's an electron on the left side for bromine and an electron on the right...

    Should I Do The HSC?

ultimately, what's the difference between not completing the HSC this year and completing it and getting like 40. As in, do uni's look at what you've done or is it really just based on your ATAR (I think this is right). I know that I just miss out on having to have prerequisites for the 2019...

    Should I Do The HSC?

To be completely real, I just couldn't be bothered I suppose. I just put it off day after day until here I am, with little knowledge. I can't repeat 2U because of my circumstances and I've pretty much established that I won't. I've boxed myself in by having to do well in physics and chemistry...

    Should I Do The HSC?

So I don't know whether I should continue with doing the HSC maths. I'm in year 11. I've basically come to the conclusion I've wasted my entire 'acceleration' period and I've arrived at a stage where I've given up. I just don't want to do the exam, I feel it's better to just let it go than to...

    HSC Physics Marathon 2017

oh my bad, forgot about that. Thanks so much.

    HSC Physics Marathon 2017

What do I need to know from the prelim course for the HSC course?

How many of you will study 10 units only in HSC?

sorry to de-rail this thread but what happens if there are like 3 people in a particular class left after everyone has dropped that subject at the end of year 11? One of my other teachers said something about if its less than 5 students there could be a problem? is that so?

How many of you will study 10 units only in HSC?

Me lol. Chem, Physics, Modern, English Advanced, Legal. Chem is letting me down and I really hoped to drop it but I have to persevere now, my maths mark won't count (I'm accelerating) because I pretty much wasted my time and didn't do the work. :spin:

How to get an essay into the 90s?

Hey guys, So I got my year 11 final exams back and I got 86% in the essay which was along the lines of 'to what extent was nationalism the main cause of WW1'. Anyway, I was pretty happy with the mark although I'm just wondering what else I have to do to get in the 90s. If anyone has the...

How Do I Go About It?

Lmao. Thanks guys, look I know these things, I've been told so much, I've figured out so much, I realise that ultimately I need and kinda want a good atar (90+) to get out of my current situation into a better one I hope. I just cannot seem to get myself motivated. That is the stumbling block...

How Do I Go About It?

so, I've pretty much given up. Despite getting a tutor, despite working out a plan of action and despite working out how to go about dividing my time for each topic in the HSC course I just can't do it. Bottom line is, I'm just not applying myself consistently. That's it. I don't have any...

    How to study?

Yeah cheers for the response guys, the issue is I CANNOT drop physics or chem. I've completely messed up my 2 unit, thus, I have 10 units left.

    Prelim Physics Thread

Alright sweet Fizzy, thanks for that. Time to get learning what I should've learnt all year in a few weeks

    Prelim Physics Thread

Can anyone tell me what I need to know for the HSC course, as in what carries over from Prelim? If you could give me a thorough range of topics and important ideas that'd be great! Thanks

How different is Preliminary Chemistry to HSC?

Sorry to revive this ancient thread but in Chemistry, how much of the prelim course do I actually need? For instance do I need to know mole formulas and those calculations and all the equations and valencies? I'm about to start working from the textbook and going through all the modules again...

    How to study?

So, I've had an epiphany. I'm going to have to do some serious catching up/re-learning and most importantly actually implement a study timetable. I've gone through most of the prelim course for Chemistry and Physics waffling my way through, not actually learning much. Modern history is fine...

    Seeking assistance in answering question

Oh ok, and by general public it's really just my subjective viewpoint right?
