    2 unit paper

Roughly between 90 and 93 depending how the state went as well.

    2 unit paper

Honestly, with this year's exam there wasn't any unexpected or 'I have never seen this before' questions if you did a lot of past papers. However, in comparison with other years, there weren't a lot of 'free mark' questions as a result in my opinion. MC, Q11, Q12 and Q13 were really straight...

    2 unit paper

Recognising the inequality for general n, correct method, and correct value for n.

What's the hardest past paper in recent years?

2013 I reckon was one of the most difficult exams for 2u as well as the exams between 2001 and 2008 where the last questions were extremely hard. Good luck guys. :)

    Is Standard English Capped?

Nothing is capped where the idea of maximum means that during a particular year that was the highest ATAR earned by a student who did English Standard that counted towards their ATAR.

fins1612 in sem 1 or 2 at unsw?

Depends who's the lecturer in charge for 1612. I know both sems for this year the assessments will be the same but two different lecturers but according to the reviews semester 2's lecturers aren't as good as semester 1. And yes 1613 is horrible in sem 2 but that doesn't mean its not doable.

    The UNSW Scaling Thread

FINS1612 - Only quiz 2 was scaled to a credit average, nothing else was scaled. FINS2624 - No scaling. ACTL2111 - Midsem was scaled up by 5, overall marks were scaled as "necessary". ACTL2131 - Midsem was also scaled up by 5, "Very minor" scaling for the overall marks according to the LIC.

    ECON1203 Lectures

Perhaps you should try FINS1613 in sem 2 :P
  12. P

    ECON1203 Lectures

Well you need to respect the fact some LICs are simply not just lecturing, perhaps researching or working with conferences or even take charge with other courses rather than just that one course etc. You also realise not many courses have the same LIC for both semesters.
  13. P

    ECON1203 Lectures

Different lecturer in charges so some subjects are either taught different, or different hw/exams especially FINS1613 where the LIC in semester 2 is utter destructive in comparison to semester 1.

What they mean by equations 1 is the circle identity of secx and tanx, and the derivative of tanx and secx.

Question about the maths involved in Actuarial Studies

Although 3U is sufficient it was very difficult to be comfortable with the content particularly 1151 and 1251 (I was actually never comfortable with it just lived on the edged being the only 2U/3U person). However since there are no more compulsory MATH units for actuarial studies after the...

    Thoughts on the MATH1151 exam

Sneaky options question though like i'm sure some people wouldn't know that payoff is when X is less than 60. I'm sure those ones who understood it got P(Z<3.16) which is actually close to 1.

    UNSW chit chat thread

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016 Peter Andersen's slides saved me highly recommend having a look at that as well as the older lecture slides since i've heard this year's slides made by your lecturer in charge ain't as comprehensive as what it should be.
