Water? Lolwat, isn't that prelim? And yeah, AE sounds heaps good - titration, Le Chatelier's etc. sounds good.

Year 12 2012 Chit Chat Thread

Yeah that's why it's rote learnt lol - they tell you a bunch of stuff and that's about it - don't ask you to explain it at all. And for 'Identify that ethylene, because of the high reactivity of its double bond, is readily transformed into many useful products', what does 'high electron cloud...

Yeah I went ahead in the hols. haha - how you finding it so far?

Year 12 2012 Chit Chat Thread

Maybe haha - but S1-S3 for PoM have honestly killed my interest in Chem atm. They don't even ask you how cracking works (I think), just memorise the benefits of each and stuff.

Yeah but Eco is so much better atm - it's rote learnt too, but I at least enjoy it. Like the global economy is interesting, but polymers, fermentation etc. - not my thing lol. And yeh abbreviations - full intense black market lol.

Tbh it doesn't come naturally, I'm going pretty hard lol - but it defs doesn't come naturally. I'm up to S4 and I'm revising Sections 1-2 again, and just realised how shit they are. S4 is really good - I love the galvanic cells stuff. Everything before that it very shit imo - biomass...

Year 12 2012 Chit Chat Thread

Yeah idk why I put that there too - relating it to properties is pretty logical - makes sense why you use it in whatever use it has.

Lol deswa. And probs got it wrong lol - I'm using another friend's, but probs gonna use C.R's - they seem good.

Year 12 2012 Chit Chat Thread

Yeah PoM is actually such a pain to study lol. From what I've learnt so far, I found prelim more conceptual and more interesting.

Year 12 2012 Chit Chat Thread

Bro do you reckon there's any way you can understand PoM? Basically everything on cracking, steps in the production of polyethylene, systematic naming, need for alternative sources of the compounds presently obtained from the petrochemical industry, uses of polymers and properties. It's all...

    Yeah, I have someone's syllabus notes for Chem. A4 typed up - 35 pgs topic 1, 40 t2, 36 t3, 42 t4.

    Lol not really.

Year 12 2012 Chit Chat Thread

It's pissing me off, I honestly am trying to understand this so that I don't have to memorise 35 pages of notes just for 1 topic, but it's too hard.
  14. theind1996

Year 12 2012 Chit Chat Thread

Fuck this is ridiculous. Chemistry Topic 1 is all bloody rote learning. I'm trying to see the concept behind it, there's barely anything. Fuck.

    2014 English Thread!

Basically the school doesn't give 20's unless they think it's a cracker. And my related text analysis was too crap for a 19 in my opinion, the related text was a massive rush job.

    2014 English Thread!

Cheers haha, I much prefer Economics or another humanity to English too, but English isn't too bad in my opinion. I tried not to overload it with verbose language - I learnt it the hard way after my first Yr 11 assessment. To future year 10's: With English, it's okay to use synonyms once in a...

    2014 English Thread!

No worries - this year, was for my yearly. There wasn't really much feedback besides - 'well integrated response, nicely integrated quotes and techniques, question was answered very well. 18/20.' School marks very harshly though - we tend to get about top 40-50 getting a band 6 in English, and...

    2014 English Thread!

Thanks deswa :) Original post: Ahh, might as well post up one of my essays - got 18/20 - I ranked 5th/140 in a top 30 selective school. I think I did that well mainly because I answered the question well, which I can't really show through what I'm posting. Not my best essay - it's on area of...
