Yeah I would assume that a ridiculous amount of tutoring comes into it. I don't see how you could get a state rank except in maybe English or a foreign language subject without loads of tutoring.

Make sure your algebra skills are up to scratch because algebra underpins almost everything you do in prelim/hsc advanced. Sooooo many students have a really good grasp of concepts and know all the fancy formulas but still lose a lot of marks because they make silly errors in their algebra.

If you do effective, targeted study its surprisingly easy to do very well in eco. This because eco content is not like modern or bio where you have to know reams of facts - its basically about understanding key concepts and applying them. Sure, you have to memorise some stats for essays but...

I've got an asus zenbook, cost about $1000. It is more than sufficient for school/uni work - its got like 16 gb of ram or something. I've heard Lenovo Thinkpads are quite good as well.

yeah definitely, at my school at least yr 11was the best year for co-curriculars, make sure you get involved in them as much as you can. It's more important that you develop broader understandings of things through stuff like robotics and debating clubs as opposed to just studying in year 11...

Lots of stats for a range of essay topics. Don't know whether these 2020 predictions will still be terribly useful for the 2021 HSC, but there are about a dozen essays in this doc so hopefully some of them should come up.

Lots of stats (some of which may require updating, although most should still be relevant because not much new micro stuff happens), diagrams and dissemination of theory. I got an HSC mark of 95 for Economics and this was the essay I based all my micro stuff off of.

My complete China notes - I got an hsc mark of 95 with them. Plenty of historical detail and the odd historian quote (you don't really need them for this section), and a decent amount of stuff for the survey (they can actually ask you 3-5 mark questions on the survey in this section).
