Re: HSC 2014 4U Marathon Should i attach a hand written solution so you can see if correctly done?

    Re: HSC 2014 4U Marathon Does that mean I am right? 8pi integral _2_0 sqrt (4-x^2) Letting x= 2sintheta and then integrating after using cos double angle formula 16pi ((sin2theta)/2+theta)_pi/2 _ 0 = 8pi^2.

Re: HSC 2014 4U Marathon Wait why do you have such a different limits and the constant coefficient is so different/. Wait btw I shifted the curve so that I think makes it such that only y remains and u can simply rearrange to form a simple radical with nothing mutliplied.

Re: HSC 2014 4U Marathon Dunja can you please try my way? using the x+2 = sqrt(3) tan(theta). I am trying but I am not getting -2. I changed the limits. so that it will approach pi/2

Re: HSC 2014 4U Marathon Way off for both. Integral was 8pi integral_2_0 sqrt (4-(x-2)^2). I obtained this by shifting curve and its equation or not!!!! damn i forgot to shift equation. after shifting it would become 8pi integral _2_0 sqrt (4-(x^2)). That gets me 16 Pi^2 , i think

Re: HSC 2014 4U Marathon HSC is not all about smartness. Its more of how the situations favour you. See me. I used a lot of proofs for one of my 4U tasks that the teacher didnt approve and yeh dropped down to 84% straight. I am not saying i am smart. To say the truth, I am actually stupid but...
