    help with my subjects please!

it's not automatically better to balance your units, but it can sometimes be suggested. the reason is probably the following: - 10 units count towards your atar so if you're on 11 units and bomb one of your hsc exams, you still have to include 1 unit worth of that subject in your overall hsc...

feeling okay about it, honestly! i literally just submitted my first full reflection statement draft to my teacher for feedback; i'm a couple of drafts in to my major work and I think I'm finally reaching the pointy end which is good! i'm still really enjoying the process of writing it although...

How badly will a subject bring down my ATAR?

don't dismiss maths advanced yet!!! i accelerated maths advanced last year and it was by FAR my worst subject - i was ranked bottom half of the cohort and i got 53% in the trial, and averaged 70%-80% over my other assessments. after the trial i panicked at the prospect of a band 2 or whatever...

    Explanation of HSC Marks (Moderating)

yes it is totally possible. my friend state ranked last year and she wasn't ranked internally first for that course. the person who was internally first did not state rank (although im sure she did well). so you could totally perform better both in the hsc and overall :)

What's everyone doing for their major works and how are you going with it?

we submitted ours like a month ago which was a huge relief although a stressful grind. i did mine on the separation of history and storytelling which i found interesting until we got to the last week and then i was so sick of it!

tbh i'm going to go back and change it so idk how much it matters but like, law/arts degree combos in all the major sydney unis (+ anu). because i'm the generic good-at-english-and-history-and-debating person so law/arts is obviously my calling

i know i'm the only one with any favourable shakespeare sentiment - i did a production of macbeth at 11 or so and since then i've just really enjoyed it - i'm definitely in the minority though! mod a is and continues to be iconic; i did tempest and hagseed which i found super enjoyable :)
