    Permutation Questions Help

Ill add on: 1. Total is 7!/2! cos of the repeating S. Then the number of ways where the S's are at the end : 5! x 2!/2!. So the probablity, if I didn't do any mistakes should be (5! x 2!/2!)/(7!/2!) 4. Think the question is trying to make itself seem tricky by adding the 720 ways and if they...

    Trig help

Another way, convert tan theta into sin/cos. Then just multiply and eventually you'll get the equation sin^2(\theta)-3cos^2(\theta)+2sin(\theta)cos(\theta)=0. Factorising it will give you (sin(\theta)-cos(\theta))(sin(\theta)+3cos(\theta)). Solve for both equations and you get your answer

How do you study for extension 2 math tests? Is it any different from how you study your extension 1 tests?

I only self-learned integration cos it looked cool, but yeh I had to go through all of it in ext 1 then onto 4u, but once you get the idea which is the hard part, applying it isn't hard. Haven't done anything else in 4u so can't speak for rest

number of quotes usually = number of marks -1. so say a 3 mark question, you can use 2 quotes. Just make sure to explain really well

    Polynomials help

So pretty much, just divide x^4-2x^3+x^2+ax+b by x^2+x-1. You would end up with the reminder being, (a-3-5)x +(b+5). You want the reminder to be 0. So you solve for a-3-5=0 and b+5=0 Its a good question ngl, just do what ever comes to your mind and hopefully it'll lead you somewhere

    Resources for New Syllabus (Trials)

Recommend doing the trial papers always, since they are usually harder than the acutal HSC, from which I heard, and if you have trouble with the questions, you can always refine your knownledge on the topic through the textbook

    Polynomials HELP

First one, let roots = alpha, 1/alpha and beta. So if we multiply them, we get \beta = -4 Then if we add them the roots we should get -b/a. However as there is no x^2 term, -b/a=0. So if you add them you would get 0. You should be able to solve it from there. Same thing with 2. If you let...

why is the integral used in this question?

If you integrate an acceleration-time graph, you get the velocity. Something to note : Differentiating displacement/distance-time graph gives velocity. Integrating gives nothing differentiating velocity-time graph gives displacement/distance. Integrating gives acceleration Differentiating...

Nah perms and combs is quite easy self-learn as long as you have the answers to the questions. Hell, anything is self-learnable if you put in the time and effort. You can find a bunch of questions online and in pdfs.

    U-sub vs reverse chain rule

So im self-learning integration and im up to reverse chain rule. I done u sub before, and when I check my answers on wolframalpha, it often does it by u-subbing. So are they similar? And are there any qestions where reverse chain rule is better than u subbing?
