    Cadetship 2015

@nununana: tl;dr: Cadetships in Business are mainly Accounting roles. In terms of Commerce, which I assume by the fact it's posted in this sub, what Asghar has said is correct, in terms of co-op programs: B.Comm (Co-op) @ UNSW offers many streams, such as Marketing, Business Info Sys...

    Bachelor of Accounting (Co-op) 2016

Hey Jbailey, That's unfortunate to hear - it's a terrible feeling, and I know where you're coming from. I got rejected from many different firms/programs (some of which I deeply aspired to!) and in hindsight, it was a harsh, but valuable learning experience in perseverance and determination...

Is accounting really as boring as people make it out to be :(?

Accounting is quite broad, as everyone has said - can range from A&A to fund accounting to back/mid-office at a bank. I've done 2/6months in product control and it's pretty fun! The uni theory is a bit dry, but it always depends on lecturers/tutors/team etc. I'd say if you're doing a...

    Bachelor of Accounting (Co-op) 2016

Congratulations to all who received an offer a few weeks back! A note that Round 2 applications are available for those who didn't apply in Round 1. In addition, I'm currently doing my placement, so if you have any questions to ask, feel free to PM or post here!

    Essentials of Corporate Finance textbook

For FBF (25300), you only need maybe 20% of the book, but that 20% is pretty good. For practice, even re-doing tute questions and the extension in-tute questions should suffice.

    Bachelor of Accounting (Co-op) 2016

Haha! I guess it's just that time of year where students begin to think about their post-HSC options. Correspondingly, we're all a helpful bunch in BAcc :)

    Bachelor of Accounting (Co-op) 2016

Hey Jbailey. Congrats on getting into the interview stage! It should say in your info booklet what the day will consist of. I'm not sure what it'll be like this year. Group interviews are normally conducted to see how you perform in a team environment. In my opinion, effective teamwork...

    Bachelor of Accounting (Co-op) 2016

Congrats! Seremify's advice is spot on. I know people say you shouldn't have pre-prepared answers, which is true, but it doesn't hurt to have a think about yourself. Best of luck!

    Scholarships

I can't comment on the decision choice, since I'm not 100% sure myself, but what we're told is that it's based on lots of factors. My opinion is, if you're weak in one area, you can compensate with something else, e.g., academics. In addition, it's not about quantity, but quality - no point...

    Scholarships

+1. The worst case scenario is that you get rejected and gain experience; the best case is that you have a scholarship! Re. UTS' Co-op Program, Round 1 entries have closed, but there's still an opportunity with Round 2. Check my signature for more details :)

    Cadetship 2015

I would strongly recommend any individuals interested in business to apply for ALL available programs - big 4/mid-tier/small-tier/co-ops. You have little to lose (a bit of time), but you have A LOT to gain (application/interview experience, a feel of what business is like, opportunities etc.)

    Bachelor of Accounting (Co-op) 2016

Yep, absolutely agree Chronost! Both UTS and UNSW offer great co-op programs - some sponsors have students from both universities interning together! To add to the list of differences regarding UTS and UNSW, I'd say the list of sponsors is quite different, in addition to the atmosphere...

    Bachelor of Accounting (Co-op) 2016

Hey Stevebt123, Firstly, good job on already considering your post-HSC options! It's great to see students who are forward-thinking. As far as business degrees go, I think this is the best degree. You graduate in 3 years with a year of professional, relevant, work experience - huge edge over...

    Bachelor of Accounting (Co-op) 2016

Hi BoS, It's that time of year again, where final year students begin to apply for cadetships and co-op programs. I'm sure you have all seen the Cadetships 2015 thread, as well as the past threads. Personally, I found BoS to be a great resource to discover and learn about the different...

    About BAcc

+1. Even then, it's quite rare. I think if you go UNSW, they advertise the co-op vacanies, however.
