IMO, I'd say do B politics, philosophy and economics as it is quite broad. It's also new which is interesting. Everyone does Psych so you'd have to specialize.

I can't complain as I've only had to complete one major work but, the best advice is to start and get on things early, be organized (e.g. break it up into timelines) and don't put things off because you don't understand or try to complete last minute. I'd suggest you stick with advanced. I was in the same boat as you - I was getting 12-13/20 and was a bit skeptical. Now, I am getting higher marks with more practice and my rank is improving. Firstly, you should read your set texts! I good thing to do is read them all in the Xmas holidays...
