    What are law seminars?

Law Lectures = Lectures/Tutorials for UNSW. Seminars = Random one off session Tutorials = Research Tutorial (only a few law subjects have this) You can miss up to 4 Law Lectures. You are required to attend 80% of your classes. 20% = 4 Law lectures. If you fall below the required attendance...

    UNSW's new law entry??

YO ME! :P Actually all the money from LAT goes to ACER and not the Law School. The Law School receives no monetary benefit for introducing LAT.

    What are law seminars?

At UNSW we don't have tutorials except research tutorials. Your lectures are basically the equivalent of tutorials and they commence Week 1. Attendance will be marked. The Seminar is a one off workshop on something.

    UNSW's new law entry??

Also means they can sit it twice and the better result will count.

    UNSW and EAS

I am going to be honest and say that your chances of getting into UNSW Law will be very low even with EAS. The lowest ATAR I know that got in with EAS was about 97.10. In some years it might be lower but it has generally been around the 97 mark. Unfortunately EAS doesn't give you as many "bonus"...

    UNSW's new law entry??

I am not sure why people think so negatively of the LAT. It only boosts your chances of getting in. If you already meet the ATAR cut off, your result in LAT will not matter. So people who know for sure they can get 99.70+ wont have to bother sitting it. If you are already below the ATAR cut off...

    URGENT! University starting dates

Most courses don't have mid year entry. Why not just take the courses as normal and see how you go. If those courses get too hard, you can drop it before the penalty date. During this time continue to pick up on physics and maths.

Anyone studied the Bachelor of Arts and Business at UNSW

I had a chat with a uni representative a couple of years back (like 2). When the degree says Bachelor of ____ and Business, it is predominantly a ______ degree and allows you to have a bit of a taste in business courses without having to commit to another degree. They introduced these ____ and...

    transfer likelihood?? help

Actually Macquarie is quite a reputable university. I know it's not as prestigious as USYD or UNSW but graduates are still employed. In fact many of the top law firms have graduates from Macquarie Uni. If you want to study law at UNSW, then give internal transfer a shot. If you want to play it...

How strict is entry into law at UNSW

Hey! Yes it is a strict cut off. If you fall short of the ATAR you will not receive the offer. The people who got in with a lower ATAR is because of bonus points (EAS and Elite Athletes) or AAA Scholarship. If you are interested in Law still put it down. You don't know what the ATAR Cut off is...

    UNSW Guaranteed entry

Are you sure? Did you include HSC Plus, EAS, Elithe Athletes etc? You can get up to 10 bonus points. My understanding is that only Australian Citizens and PR are eligible. Not too sure about International.

Med sci at UNSW or Usyd? Aiming for postgrad med @ Usyd

Looks like they reduced the number from 15 down to 10. They only consider your university mark (WAM), UMAT and Interview. So to answer your question ATAR isn't considered. You apply during your second year I think. If you are successful you still complete the medicine program within roughly the...

Med sci at UNSW or Usyd? Aiming for postgrad med @ Usyd

I am not too sure on the pros and cons sorry but just thought I made a post. Not sure if this still exists. I believe there are 15 spots guaranteed for students doing Med Sci at UNSW to then transfer to the UNSW Med Program. You still need to do UMAT and go through the interview process but you...

    Appeal/review of exam results?

If you honestly believe you performed better, ask for a recount of your marks. Sometimes lecturers leave things out e.g. CP or they type the results in wrong. The consensus though seems to be that this Crim Exam was challenging. Many people did not perform as well as they thought. In terms of...

UNSW 2015 Sem 2 Results Thread

z33 still no results. Also you can probably guess the results posted above is fake. The account was created this month and only made one post. Some bored ass decided to create an account to troll others.

    Electives dilemma

Well most HRs say it doesn't matter. However you might get the question "Oh you did Family Law. Why are you seeking a career at our firm and not a family law firm?"

    BSOC Peer Mentoring

Questions are usually: 1. Why do you want to be a peer mentor? 2. Some random behavioural questions e.g. Tell me about a time... 3. Ask you to demonstrate some stuff e.g. Please demonstrate how you would introduce yourself to your mentees in the first session

URGENT: Apparent Changes to UNSW LAW Entry

I can confirm that UNSW Law is introducing the LET and removing Elite Athlete's bonus points. Nothing is confirmed at this stage but it is likely to involve writing 1-2 short essays. You will be assessed on your critical thinking skills. Source - Student Ambassador

    Advice please!! :d

A law degree is attractive because of the skills you developed. Another reason why some people do Com/Law even though they know for sure they don't want to practice law is because they have a longer time to build up their CV. Compare a B Commerce student with a B Commerce/LLB when they are...
