Good question. Think what pH actlly means. It means the amount of H+ ions. pH = -log[h+]. alkanes and alkenes dont dissocate so wont produce H+ ions. That is why they are neutral :)

Drive: 5-10 minutes. Usually 8 minutes though. If i go by Bus: Can take up to 20 minutes total trip (including waiting, and walking to bus stop) depending on bus timetables.
