hmm... well if... f(x) = (sin[x]).(3x+1) then... f'(x) = (sin[x])(3) + (3x+1)(cos[x]) = 3sin[x] + 3xcos[x] + cos[x] ? In relation to your statement 'does it become (sin[x])/(cos[x]) = 1', the answer is no. It's... 'sin[x]/cos[x] = tan[x]'.

Then shouldn't it be: f(x) = sin(3x+1) ? O.o

I'm not sure if I missed something but the question basically asks me to express sinh 3x as a cubic polynomial in sinh x. And then integrate: sinh^3 x against x. Now... my answer is almost the same as the one in the book... the only difference being I have a '+ C'. I've also noticed that other...

Hmm, yeh, the book has that answer as well. But let's say I received this question in the exam. Would I lose marks if I used my method? (Just to be on the safe side I will probably use the other approach, but I'm just curious if I would lose marks.)

Okay... what I don't understand is why is the answer '12978189' as opposed to '12978188'. Shouldn't you be rounding down? =/
