    HSC 2019 First in Course

Doesn't seem like a troll, I saw the post on hsc discussion group and while no one else confirmed from the comments it doesn't seem to be the type of stuff Hscbuzman pulls. Never know though, I'm kinda worried I'm gonna open the text tomorrow and have like 50 in 4u lol

    HSC 2019 First in Course

Yeah thats how they've done it every past year, I got 4th last year in 2u and got no call. Looks like they did it differently this year though

    HSC 2019 First in Course

Can anyone confirm this? Rip any chance of state ranking 4u then

Still not as bad as 11 topping genny last year lol

Tips on how to excel in Integration

It all really comes from experience. Generally, the integrals you get given aren't super complicated, so the method shouldn't be too difficult to identify. Usually, as soon as you see a product of two separate 'types' of functions, you will be able to realise isntantly that IBP is the way to...

Has anyone got a call for state rank 1?

No, at least last year, no calls were done for state ranks below first. You should find out if you got a state rank on the day hsc results are released, but you aren't notified or anything, your name will just be there under the subject on the website.

Has anyone got a call for state rank 1?

Damn I never got anything like that for 2u, just had my name on the website under top achievers, which I didn't know about until the day results were released

Has anyone got a call for state rank 1?

They may have changed it this year, but last year, and probably all years prior, I know for a fact that not all state rankers got a phone call. The ceremony is only for 1st in state iirc.

Do they allow you to use “reversing the step” in the HSC? (Nature of proof)

Yeah I see what you mean. I don't even see how you could do it without working backwards from an assumed limit.

Do they allow you to use “reversing the step” in the HSC? (Nature of proof)

When you say this do you mean like proving that the limit of a function at a certain x, a, is a certain value, l (l and a are both given), by showing that for all positive epsilon, a positive value of delta exists so that for all x, if |x-a|<delta then |f(x)-l|<epsilon?

    Maths Practice Papers New Syllabus!

Here are solutions. Sorry for bad quality, my scanner is terrible. Also I wrote this up hastily, so if there are any mistakes (I already know I forgot to write the induction conclusion for question 5 but I didn't think that would matter too much for everyone's purposes here), or any of my...

    MX2 Integration Marathon

    HSC is over but a good integral is always fun: \text{The given integral is equivalent to:} \int_{0}^{1} \frac{3e^x+1}{e^x+\sqrt{x+e^x}} + \frac{\left(e^x+1\right)^2}{\sqrt{x+e^x}\left(e^x+\sqrt{x+e^x}\right)}dx = \int_{0}^{1}...

Need a practice test based on mathematical induction and trig. equations 3U

It doesn't have trig equations in it, but here is my paper that has induction and vectors in it (Posted on other thread)

Ah ok thats funny. Thanks for the support, I will try writing one for 4u soon.

    3u vector question

In a square, the diagonals are perpendicular and the sides are perpendicular, so simply compute the dot product of OP and OR, and set it equal to 0, then do the same thing for OQ and PR to get two simultaneous equations. You will have the term a.b present in both, so simply eliminate that as you...

    Maths Practice Papers New Syllabus!

Dude yeah looks like you are getting b2 :(. In all seriousness though I wasn't even aware some of my questions were inspired by things. Q1 is straight from the syllabus, Q3,4,5 I found from various sources unrelated to hsc, so its impressive if you recognise them, but 2 and 6 I thought were...

    Maths Practice Papers New Syllabus!

It truly tests your understanding of the content, designed to stop rote learning and regurgitation of facts - NESA probably when writing these types of questions in physics and chem

    Maths Practice Papers New Syllabus!

Ok, here is my practice paper for vectors and induction. Anyone feel free to let me know if I accidentally included anything that isn't in the new syllabus, or if there are any errors in the paper.
