Seeking advice - ANU Law or UTS Law ?

Employers do. Unless you're on a low credit ave than you might as well drop out Because no university will help you there. I would definitely go uts because it is close and the difference with ANU is not that great for someone who just wants to work and not that into research etc. Your...

    Specialities with best work/life balance?

Yeah I mean its only natural that there will be 'tiers' of schools given so many med schools are out now. I was searching up some stuff on it, but did see a few B. Med Newcastle in head of department roles for some hospitals (cardiology) so was a bit surprised (but I guess the med school is...

    Specialities with best work/life balance?

By chasing clients, I mean sucking up to them and having no control over your life/hours. I understand medicine has quite a bit of that as well because of references etc but I'll manage. Yes you're right, I did the wrong comparison but I think its because when people our age talk about...

    Specialities with best work/life balance?

Couple of reasons but one of them is the lifestyle I want (same reason as a couple of my other mates who've already changed from comm/law to med). As Medman just mentioned the hours above, Generally, Medicine's 'extreme' hours (60-70ish?) are just above the 'average' for the top end jobs e.g...

Only just got accepted into a selective school--should I still move?

You are my role model. I would listen to everything this guy says.

Pathway into medicine from UTS LAW

That's beast! Congrats. OP: You can apply for med (or anything you want) from any degree. Just do the UMAT again because compared to GAMSAT it requires little to no effort (also has to do with luck). I thought the skills picked up from my law degree helped HEAPS during S1 which saved my umat...

    Specialities with best work/life balance?

I deferred until next year (2016) because still not 100% sure. I'm fairly set for my comm/law degree so its a hard decision but I'm definitely leaning towards med from talking to countless people over the past 2-3 weeks and researching (convinced 2 of my other mates to go for med - fairly sure...

    Double Major

That's basically like saying - how many hours do you need to study to get a 99.7+ ATAR? Way too many variables. To be honest, at uni marks are not THAT important for simple reasons. Generally, the more time you put into commerce, the higher your marks will be (obviously there are...

Also interested in this. Medman pls respond.

    WAM/GPA requirement for ANU law

Why would you move from UNSW to ANU law? It probably wouldn't be that high - maybe a 75 WAM? Or do you want to move away from home/perks ? Assuming you live in sydney.

    not sure where to go

Depends what 'matter' means. Yes, there will be certain perks of going into usyd/unsw - when basically you go into an internship and at least 5 people from your cohort is there, its just easier. If travel isn't THAT much of an issue, I would go to usyd over MQ any day purely because of the...

Can you reactivate a declined offer?

you're friend fked up :( Never decline - always defer!

    Double Major

If you're thinking like that before starting university, you are fairly set IMO. Well done. I didn't know what 'big 4' was until 2nd sem, first year. Job prospects will be really solid and you're very likely to get A job. If you get a HD average/Subject ranks, you will most likely get...

The 2015 CRICKET World Cup Thread

Re: The Official 2015 CRICKET World Cup Thread Australia (home adv + in form) or SA (Quality + in form), but voted for Bangladesh because fuck you.

    B civil engineering( honours) / B laws

Haha one of my friends is doing civil/law and there are a handful of others. Its not just 1 person. What did you get in IELTS?

Take undergraduate medicine or aim for postgraduate?

Congrats on your decision!!! This is most likely to be true. You're cohort in usyd MD will generally be 'brighter'. Some people I know who entered as undergrads have already published papers as 3rd years. But it doesn't really matter that much for med (unless you plan on studying overseas later...

    lmao you need jesus.

Master of IT (data analytic) USYD vs UTS

Almost all UTS courses are relatively easier to get higher marks in compared to usyd/unsw. That is not necessarily a good thing because most domestic employers are aware of that.

Should I try to make friends in uni?

Shiee, do you run PASS sessions for your uni? Gun. Yeah OP, just rock up to your first day at uni with a blazer on so you can feel superior to everyone. This also has the effect of others avoiding you so no dramas.
