    UTS B Design ATAR UAI cut-offs 2012

I did check, bah, the whole thing was really infuriating/disappointing. First of all yeah, a staff member told me that I'd be accepted in straight away with my ATAR so I didn't need to submit a portfolio. I found out later that that was not the case, but it was too late and they wouldn't allow...

Uni marks needed to transfer into Vis Comm?

And in case anyone else stumbles across this page in the future: I didn't end up getting in. Word of advice; do your own research into admission requirements (if possible) and submit a portfolio. I'm so upset :( Oh well. Next year, I suppose.

    UTS B Design ATAR UAI cut-offs 2012

As a non-recent school leaver I missed out on vis com :( Was told by a staff member that I didn't need to submit a portfolio because my ATAR of 99 would get me in, but I missed out. Turns out that only non-recent school leavers with portfolios were accepted. Congratulations to all of you who...

    Transfer to Arts

Mitch, yup I'm transferring to Design (visual communication) at UTS. Was going to transfer to fine art at USyd but I thought I should probably gain some form of employable skills, haha.

    Transfer to Arts

I should! Nope, the giant jenga tower for me it is! (Looks like I will get in to the course I want, yay!) But srsly I should/will attend one of the meats... one day! Anyway I will cease my off topic ramble.

Is the difficulty of the course taken into account?

You're very welcome :) Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions about arts or arts (adv) at USyd! I shall try my best to answer them! Also congrats on your ATAR!

Uni marks needed to transfer into Vis Comm?

Hey, thanks for your reply. I did actually email the course director as you suggested but the email was forwarded to another member of staff to reply. I thought I'd put this here in case anyone else stumbles across this page in the future. This is what he said in the email: "It would appear...

    Transfer to Arts

Oooh that's exciting! And darn, thought you took english this semester. Need to polish my stalking skills (I mean, what?) Yeah english at uni is different to school. It was very strange studying Emily Dickinson at uni and not studying her through the Belonging filter. Quite refreshing...

Is the difficulty of the course taken into account?

Noooooooo don't do arts (adv)(hons) if you're planning on transferring. The degree has its benefits, but only if want to fast track to postgraduate study. So for your purposes, start off in a normal b arts and blitz it. I did arts (adv)(hons) at USyd this year and luckily scraped a D...

    Transfer to Arts

Wow, maths/arts! Why the change? Enjoying your english subject this semester eh? (I read it somewhere... I'm not stalking you, I swear) Looks like you'll be pretty competitive to transfer. HD average in maths, nice one! And like you say, I don't think maths/arts is an overly popular double...

Uni marks needed to transfer into Vis Comm?

Ahh, thank you so so much for the reply. Do you know whether they will see both my atar and my uni marks seperately? Or will uac just automatically combine them into one mark? I did call student admin but they told me you just need a credit average to be considered. I thought that might be...

Uni marks needed to transfer into Vis Comm?

So... I thought that UAC would be taking my ATAR when applying for the transfer, but it turns out they'll be using 90% of my uni marks and 10% of my atar (cry.) I also found this information out too late to submit a portfolio, because the last day was Oct 30. I that I didn't have to submit one...

    USYD vs UNSW!

I don't know much, but I'd say it would depend on the faculty. UTS are reputable for their design and communications degrees. Not sure about anything else though. Just research what uni is best for your particular degree. Ps... USyd >>>>>>>> UNSW. Because USyd gave me a scholarship. And UNSW...

    art works returned!

Yes :) You all get the same acceptance letter on the same day and on it will say your particular gallery.

    art works returned!

:| wot. Though you're correct in a sense. The markers and curators do have to select a variety of works and it has to all 'work' in a curatorial sense, so they have to look at what works next to other things and what would look good in a gallery setting. They also have to take into account...

    Need help with UAC application.

Probably best just to call UAC and ask. Better safe than sorry :)

    art works returned!

Nup. Mine was marked at school last year so I can't know for sure, but I had to send it off myself, from school, when it was nominated. So I'd assume they'd send everyones back and then the selected people would have to send them off individually if successful. That was phrased confusingly but...

    Our BOW is finished!

Congratulations everyone for finishing your BOWs! Don't regret anything and try not to feel disappointed, it's in the past now. And your BOWs aren't absolute reflections of what you are capable of as an artist. Just be glad that it's over and that you can now focus on the rest of your subjects...

    Public transport noob~halp.

Garh, whut? I'm going from Kensington to USyd (I know, going to the wrong uni hah, UNSW so close...) so how would they know that I bought it at Kensington? I'm sure they would sell zone 1 tickets.

    Public transport noob~halp.

Ohhh ticket inspectors. Right. I didn't know they existed. ;p I've been catching buses for the last two weeks and haven't seen any. Are they common? Do they go on the busy metro buses? But then also, does it say on your ticket where you came from? Couldn't you just say that you just got on at...
