Curious on what degrees BOS'ers want to take

Many people ATTEMPT it, but people drop the degree after comp1511 (unsw's intro to programming) if they didnt like it. The first course isn't too bad if you programmed before but definitely breaks the morale of many people who do it "for the money" and have no experience in coding. It's probably...

Good to see a good chunk interested in CS. Will make my first couple of reviews relevant to most people.

Curious on what degrees BOS'ers want to take

What degrees do you guys want to do? Choose an option (2 if double degree) you feel most likely to do as of now. I'm just curious, also will help me see what subjects people might take for the other thing I want to do. Cheers.

Would you like to see subject reviews?

Nah but i'm planning to do something a bit more elaborate and more of a recount hopefully with some other ppl, you'll see it when you see it. its not gonna be anything fancy though lmao just more of a post on how i felt abt the subject and any advice for ppl who want to do it.

Would you like to see subject reviews?

I'll probably post it on the thread and let people comment there but have it on a google doc so if ppl do wanna read it organised they can see it from there. In that way there's not much need for regulation.

Would you like to see subject reviews?

Ideally, I'd like to do it with some uni students so it doesn't get cluttered like the Ask Me Anything thread because it might hold some relevance even if its old (like other websites/forums that do the same thing). Its just that there's not really a modern/relevant subject review and I think...

Would you like to see subject reviews?

I know a lot of you guys are planning to go onto STEM-related degrees and I was wondering if you guys wanted to see subject reviews (completely subjective lmaoo) + personal regrets/advice when doing them. It could be something the uni students can rant abt and in a sense it can help you guys in...

    vector integration

Proof: - Know logical implications if possible - Understand and know the structure of a proof. Being formal and clear in your proof will allow for markers (as well as yourself in rechecking) to read better. - You need to be able to do contraposition, contradiction, if and only ifs, direct...

    vector integration

yes these topics are mostly just grind. just make sure you have an intuitive understanding of vectors just in case they throw a hard vector Q. Integration is basically just pure grinding. You can't lose marks on this, you have to try to lose marks for this topic.

    How to prep for trials??

Past papers i mean from thsc, like any trial paper. Preferably from reputable schools. For your second part, yeah, that's why I said to fully master the content first by grinding out qs from textbooks then attempt a full timed paper. The earlier, the better. Don't worry about failing or doing...

    How to prep for trials??

    1. Finish off studying all relevant content 2. Grind out practice Qs i.e basic routine questions in respective textbooks to a point of mastery 3. Do as much past papers as you can and monitor your results, do not blindly do them but rather ensure you recognise what you're doing wrong...

Does anyone have any physics practical exams / past papers which only assess practical knowledge (no module knowledge)?

Make some notes for every possible case for experimental errors that can happen, e.g calibration error, parallax and then make sure you link these errors to some explanation on WHAT type of aspect of the experiment they affect e.g parallax affects accuracy and it does so because ... Make sure...

Ext 1 vs Ext 2 Vectors

I can only give an elementary description (I'm not covering EVERY difference but I'll give a gist of it) of the differences; Extension 1 topic only considers vectors in the second dimension i.e the cartesian plane (xy graph). It is a very fundamental introduction to the topic which goes over...

Cambridge Maths Year 11 Ext. 1 Enrichment questions = 😵‍💫

I'd say mathematics in H.S would be two things. Computation + Intuition. For computation, simply just get fast at doing simple processes such as applying trigonometric identities quickly or knowing how to simplify combinatorial terms etc. For intuition, I'd suggest just studying the material...
