    Yr 12 Subjects

Hey, so I recently selected my subjects which included extension maths and english. I have heard the english extension is quite time consuming for a one unit subject and I was wondering if I should keep it for Yr 12? I am being pushed to decide to do extension 2 maths as I am in this accelerated...

    Biology or Chemistry

Chemistry and physics are normally on assumed knowledge for medical courses but biology is still more useful because if you haven't taken it then a lot of unis make you do a bridging course. But if you don't want to get into a medical area, both subjects are pretty similar in scaling but...

    HSC Subject Selection and Medicine

All the subjects (excluding maths, english, japanese) scale pretty average. If you are thinking of doing medicine you should definitely reconsider as most unis would prefer if you did two sciences, even just one science would be pretty sufficient. But do what you enjoy, but if you want to get...

what do you think of my subjects? biology or economics? or..?

Year 10 commerce does give you a good background that may advantage you if you do economics but needless to say, it is still possible to achieve great marks without it. But if you are also bad essays and you want to go more into the medical field I would go with biology. The year 11 course is...

Which one am I more likely to make more money in? Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering?

Probably software at the moment but electrical will probably be consistent into the future and may be more when you are more experienced. Depending on how well you do has nothing to do with your pay but your competitiveness to receive a high paying graduate job will be a much smaller compared if...

Commerce degree with computer science or math/statistics?

The degree at Macquarie is the Bachelor of Arts/Commerce with an ability to major in statistics, applied mathematics, data science or pure mathematics as well as your commerce majors.

Commerce degree with computer science or math/statistics?

    1. Sydney has a better industry placement program than UNSW unless you get into the co-op program. 2. I would go for statistical mathematics at UNSW especially if you want to get into areas of commerce such as investment banking where the base job is a financial analyst for M&A etc. Statistical...

Bachelor of Science vs Bachelor of Medical Science

Science is mostly an easier course to get into than medical science and so employers probably would favour medical science more but I don't think it would make that big of an impact. Personally, I would just go for the straight medical science degree

Commerce degree with computer science or math/statistics?

I agree with Drdusk in that I've heard UNSW has little social life compared to USYD but the academics especially in computer science and mathematics are just a little bit better at UNSW. I think both degrees would suffice for the careers that you might want to pursue and it depends what are your...
