I hope it works out then :) and I know the feeling of the lack of confidence - sometimes it can be really hard to break free of the expectations that you have of yourself and even what others think you are capable of, but try to use those results as motivation to improve rather than as a reason...

Habe you tried adjusting the way you're study and approach new work? And taking longer to understand something doesn't mean that you're dumb, I'm sure you are perfectly capable to do whatever it is that you want because from what I've read on here you're a really hard worker :)

Last year I was very confident with English, I averaged 94% and topped my year. Whilst English has always been the subject I struggle with most I've been able to get pretty good results each year, however this year I feel like I'm falling behind heaps and I want to fix that before it gets out...

My teacher spends more time pointing out that half of our class "isn't capable of doing physics and should probably drop it" than actually teaching.. it sucks for the people that actually want to learn not muck around like most of them :(

Don't worry, we only just finished it as well.. what worries me more is the fact that our physics class still hasn't finished the first topic we are doing (moving about) and we still have at least a weeks more work to do :/

This. Very wise words. Study will get you places, but a little bit of belief in youself will get you a whole lot further. In the words of good old harry potter: "working hard is important, but there's something that matters even more - believing in yourself" :)

I've been thinking about doing the same thing - it can't hurt :) Even if you don't fully understand it when you teach yourself, you'll be more prepared when you get to it in class :)

This makes me feel like my school is so far behind.. we literally only just finished the chemical earth :/
