Is it really necessary to purchase various textbooks in order to do well in subjects?

Re: Is it really necessary to purchase various textbooks in order to do well in subje Is Maths in Focus 'bad' compared to the other Maths textbook? That's the only textbook the school gave me. Sorry to hijack the forum, but any opinions? I might need to buy myself another book.

    Should i leave school?

LOL woo O'BAH! Sorry irrelevant but why didn't you go to school on the coast, Gosford high is also selective. Also, i agree with everyone else just three more terms of school just focus on your goal and you'll be in uni doing B.science in no time. :)

    15 units, What subject/s should i drop?

Man now i don't know what to drop haha. The thing is i'm what some may describe as an all-rounder haha. Extension English worth it?

Generally, if you love English you would love extension. I find it to be more expressive, which i like, unlike advance where it seems that it is very direct. Also, the topics for extension are quite interesting. Although, imo it is far more easier than advance, be prepared for the workload...

Do u write or type ur study notes?

Write. I seem to memorise my notes better as i can visualise my own hand writing during exams and simply replicate it on the exam paper. Sounds dumb but it works for me.

Who is aiming for Medicine 2011

Yeh sure no doubt i will volunteer, i think there are doctors who volunteer to do checkups on the homeless every few months at the soup kitchen. I would most probably do that once i complete med; you know stay in touch with the people. :spin:

Who is aiming for Medicine 2011

I completely agree with most of the statements you have made, such as most of the "med students have pay as their most influencing factor... " which i find completely frustrating, because you have more than a thousand applicants every year that want to do medicine for the right reasons, yet lose...
