Also in 1151/1251 you learn matlab ( a mathematical computing program ), 1141/1241 learn maple ( another mathematical program ). Matlab is more computational, whereas maple is more symbolic (that's what the lecturer said anyway)...

Yeh 1151/1251 we learn some different stuff, to 1141/1241, vice versa. We did double integrals in 1251, when 1241 did nothing of that. And we did more multivariable calculus, and I think we did more on markov chains, only because I think we use them more in second and third year.

That's the point man. It's about making friends, getting people out of their social comfort zone.

I seriously can't see what the problem with Australian Universities is. We have some of the best teaching facilities and lecturers in the Asia Pacific region. I hate to be a naysayer but you'll have to compete with the best of the best from all over the world, including many many Americans...

Ok, I don't really know much about this, but they sound very similar, so I think you can just do all the core subjects that are required for your degree, and then contact the Engineering Faculty, to "declare" a major. I'd probably get in touch with the uni now though, just to be sure.

Do what was suggested by the others who posted in the thread. Drop them all, and re enrol in them.

Hey, you need to complete math1151 before you can complete the other two subjects. You must do actl1001, and math1251 in second semester. If you're doing a plain BComm, then I suggest you enroll in mgmt1001, math1151, econ1101, and acct1501, this semester.

Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Actuarial Studies, and Finance. Second year. Potential for double degree with Comp Sci, because I'm awesome. And job prospects blah blah blah. So many kids doing actuarial. YOU WILL ALL FAIL, AND DROP OUT.
