Avoiding the regrets and disapointment of not being able to pick up 3U/4U Maths

Both 3U and 4U maths are difficult subjects, but it is also rewarding at the same time (ie. the ridiculously high scaling, and in fact, 4U maths it's the highest scaling HSC subject). I've come across quite a few people I've known and even posts and threads in this forum of people who want to...

    Science& maths vs humanities&arts

This. What's the point of doing physics because it "scales up" and you end up getting a band 4/5 in it, as opposed to economics or modern history where you get a band 6 or even state rank it.

Can you get a band 6

This happened to my mate's school in a subject. 1st got 94 and state rank, both equal second girls got band 6 but the one who rank 4th only got band 5: 89. Whereas the person who ranked 5th and 6th got band 6. So in short, No 1,2,3,5,6 got band 6 whereas the person ranked 4th got 89, which was...

    Relationships & HSC

Tbh, this can be hard. Unless both are top students or want to do well in the HSC and care about their studies and work together to achieve that high ATAR, if not , either party will affect the other one who's studying and it can be quite bad and distracting.

Failed all my internal hsc assesments?

What do you mean by fail? A fail can be anything. It can be someone aiming for 99.95 and only got 99.90 and said that they 'failed the hsc'. Or it can be someone aiming in the 90s but only got in the 80s and failed. Or it can be your miserable below 50% fail.

Have questions about uni !! pls help

Some uni have early entry, which is before the uac deadline. Then there's a separate application for that. The rest you need to apply through uac which is in August. Your school career advisor will tell you all of these things anyway.

Students who did not do well in the HSC?

This. It's ironic how everyone puts all their high hopes and dreams in uni and keeps thinking that if you didn't do well in high school, you will "magically” transform into someone great in uni, getting all the high distinctions and distinctions where in fact, most of the low achievers don't...

    Dropping Maths

If the teachers are that persistent in not letting you drop, then just attend the class but do your own work without listening.

Should I move up to 2 unit???

unless you enrol in 2U maths in tafe at the start of the year. Then you can drop general maths. I know this girl who did 2u throughout year 11 and at year 12, she did the 3unit through tafe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
