How many words are your english essays?

I did 1550 for my History in 50-55 minutes class assessment. I know its not English, but it proves you can write that much. Just sacrifice neatness for speed, afterall they are not going to give you marks for beautiful handwriting. But 900-950 sounds about right. Thats how long im planning my...

    Body Fat

ohh i see aha. My bad.
  3. S

How long are you breaks between studying?

    2 hours/ 1 hour/ 30 minutes/ 5 minutes mine range.

    Body Fat

13.2% - It's good to know i do not belong to one affinity in accordance to the chart. But its crazy that people that are tank due to weights can be considered overweight- now thats a true paradox if ever i have seen one.

    hamlet

Off topic a bit, but For my preparation, im creating paragraphs for each idea/theme within each module. If i were to get my teacher to mark, and feedback them, then with these improved paragraphs look at various questions for each module, and see how i can shape and answer them. Would this be...

    Playing games before the HSC?

You can't study all the time. During the day, i go driving, gym, and play games and all the usual stuff. I don't see chilling as a reward, or have a set amount of time for it; i just take them whenever i feel like it. You also mentioned in your subsequent post, only doing 2 hours instead of 4...

Repeat the HSC: Yay or 'Nay'

errrrgh, you obviously have not done French. It is sooo boring, and sooo tedious. And also, what use are certain languages, unless you want to be an interpretor (albeit a bit narrow minded of me) or actually live in that country.

Repeat the HSC: Yay or 'Nay'

Some potential there son. Nah, but seriously these marks won't count. Just absolutely give your all for the HSC, and really you can achieve whatever ATAR your looking for. GL mate.

Raw mark needed for band 6

That's so good, & if it occurs this year i can hopefully get a better internal mark phewww.
  10. S

    belonging comprehension

That's very good mate. But is it the sophistication of your answers that get you marks, or is it the argument you get create, with basic and sophistication not being relative??

Raw mark needed for band 6

So say i sat my hsc last year, and got 72 in Chemistry, it would get aligned to about 90 because it being the band 6 borderline?

Raw mark needed for band 6

Wow, serious? That exam was pretty easy, having had a look at it.
  13. S

    belonging comprehension

I usually do alright on these ones. get about 4/5. For me, its the 3 markers and 2 markers that screw me. Teachers are so picky. It states a one marker - identify a feature that demonstrates an idea about not belonging....Facial expressions x wrong. I thought English was all about personal...

    Recording yourself

Yeah, if i do it, it will be on my subjects like History. Hopefully, they live up to their reputation of being boring and sending you to sleep aye.
  15. S

    Recording yourself

Yeah it does seem wierd, but if it helps; i'd be all for it. Personally, i have never done it. And yeah, i heard from these documentaries that your brain picks up upon external stimulus' and can sometimes use these and process them. So if it were true, it would record your study notes, more...

    Alligning!

It varies, each year pending on the difficulty as to the exams. I have heard from last year that a 72 in Chemistry came up at around 90 ish. As for Biology around 84 is a band six within hsc, so you'd be looking at early 90's if it was a difficult exam with that biology mark. But im just...

This is how badly I am at English...

Look on the resources section. Some kind people have uploaded information on various related texts. There pretty useful too.

    Recording yourself

Has anyone tried recording themselves, reading out information for subjects on dictathingymajigs and listened to it while sleeping. Im sure some of you sciencey people, may have heard your brain is very active during sleeping and therefore may absorb some of the information. If so...

    The studying begins, what first?

Study whatever your least confident in. Equally, if i was you i would put your other subjects before SDD, because obviously you have a lot more time than other subjects. Don't have a study schedule, it will feel like a chor, just do a subject when you feel like it. It's like training in a...

    Study Planners.

I don't use a study planner, i cannot sit down and say right i'll do an hour-and-a-half, because after 30 minutes i get bored. I feel to gain a more efficient approach, if i do 30 minutes of each subject, every couple of hours. But throughout these holidays, i'll be doing English, and Ancient...
