How to remember everything in HSC chemistry?

I don't think there's any surefire way of memorising everything in HSC chem. However, there are things that may make it a little easier: - read your notes out loud to yourself (this is an "active" approach which I find quite effective when studying any subject) - record yourself reading your...

Good Luck for Extension 1 tomorrow!

Best of luck everyone! It looks like probability is highly probable (okay that was really bad - I don't even know). I have 2 exams left after this one :blink2:

    Technique?

"Accumulatory listing" is essentially just listing things (e.g. events, people, objects) one after the after - it's not really one of those formal techniques like metaphor, similie etc.. but I've seen it used :). In your passage the listing would refer to when the narrator describes the sights...

How different is Preliminary Chemistry to HSC?

You will definitely need to have a solid knowledge of moles & redox reactions - these are going to be pivotal for HSC calculation questions. Intermolecular forces are also very important - so make sure to have a good grounding on those. As for trends, for just the core topics - remember the...

How different is Preliminary Chemistry to HSC?

I think prelim chem and HSC chem are quite different so I'm not really going to make a guess on which is more difficult - I think everyone's going to have a different opinion on it. Year 12 chem definitely has a lot more memorising - it's crazy but if you enjoy the subject, it shouldn't matter...

1100 word count creative and essay, is this too much?

If it's adaptable, and a state ranker likes it :O, then you're pretty good to go! :) Also I feel that the "start your story with a line" questions are good - because the only thing you have to do is include that line as opposed to you know, incorporate some sort of motif throughout the entire...

1100 word count creative and essay, is this too much?

From what I've heard from my teachers, they like something different - but then it could just be my school :) It sort of makes sense though - I doubt markers would like to read the same generic stories over and over.

1100 word count creative and essay, is this too much?

Yeah it's is actually quite unique & I think markers like creativity. :)

1100 word count creative and essay, is this too much?

I think it takes less times to write creatives because they're less sophisticated and it's a story and it just flows (if you know what I mean?). I think 1.1k is fine if you can write fast enough and legibly too but then, you also have to realise that you'll probably have to add to that 1.1k to...

Chances of them asking for a second ORT?

There's obviously a possibility for both. However, Mod C is sorta unlikely because they haven't done it at all for the past few years (but then again, the HSC likes screwing us all over. So.)

    Mod C prediction (of mine)

Personally, I think their "ensure ALL set poems are studied" refers to having revised all of the poems so you get a well-rounded understanding of the Hughes/Plath relationship overall. Mod C is conflicting perspectives so I'm fairly sure they'll be more focused on whether you understand the...
