    Erm... estimate your mark ...

60-64/84. Tricky paper, and also had loud music playing downstairs for like 20 mins. Misadventure claim it is! Although with that mark it prob won't help, I got 41 on my report.

Any rural students on here that have opinion on how they'll go?

City schools do have better access to resources, good teachers, etc. Its frustrating at times, but makes rural kids work harder. People at my school consistently get over 90, usually between 5 and 10 each year, and we've even had some 99s going down in the past 5 years. I think it comes down to...

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Extension 1

Re: Wow, fuck that Me too, since for tangents to cross R had to be below the curve

    Re: Wow, fuck that dV/dl = d/dx(pi/3(h^3 - l^3) = pi/3(-3l^2) = -3pi l, that's how I did it anyway, its prob wrong I had 5 mins to go then so was rushing.

    cutoffs.

I'm gonna guess at about 60-64/84 raw. What's the guess at its scale?

Re: Wow, fuck that Yes. Area under accel graph is velocity, area under velocity graph is displacement.

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Extension 1

Pretty fucking hard tbh, made worse by some asshole downstairs deciding to play really loud music halfway through -___-. But couldn't get parts ii and iii of the earlier circle one, and the last 2 parts of the probability, and missed out the binomial bitch on q 7 altogether due to time. Still...

Yeah man, is indeed. Gonna be hard as.. but good luck studying for it, anyway. And hey, a pass...

Yeah man, is indeed. Gonna be hard as.. but good luck studying for it, anyway. And hey, a pass mark is usually enough for E3, 70ish % for E4...

    Q9c

Yeah exactly. I don't know why I wrote it as a stationary point, that's not what I was thinking while writing it and its not what I put in the exam, I did exactly what the correct diagram shows... LOL wtf that's so weird. Talking is hard...

    Q9c

English exam was last week, I don't need to be coherent any more! But yeah, what I was trying to say can be summed up like so: as f(x) ---> 8 f'(x) -----> 0 So f'(x) wouldn't cross the x axis back into positive measure, only approach it. And I didn't mean there couldn't be stat points, there...

    Q9c

Not pointed, but I doubt they'd deduct marks for it. I think its just a point of inflexion from memory, so would change concavity without being stationary, and then would never cross the x axis because as f(x) approaches 8, f'(x) approaches 0. If f'(x) crossed the x axis, this would mean the...

    Q9c

Yep exactly right, but I'd make it less pointy lol. You wouldn't get marked down for that though, its just emphasising the transition between decreasing negative grad and increasing negative grad a bit much.

Easy paper = Higher mark needed for band 6

Aw man. I know I dropped at least 1 mark and there'd prob be a few others just based on my practise papers, so there goes that. Still happy, expecting 115+ anyway

What do people reckon will be state rank cutoff?

    General Thoughts: Mathematics

For the BF : FE thing, you had to prove that triangle BFC and triangle DFE were also similar, and since they both share their lower side with the other triangles you just proved similar, they were in the same ratio and thus their corresponding sides BF : FE was 1 : 2

    General Thoughts: Mathematics

I thought it was v easy, 95+% hopefully. Just that sum of the series after rationalising the denominator, forget to check if terms cancelled out which apparently they did. And yeah, prob 1 or 2 retarded mistakes. But Q10 was surprisingly simple.
