Best way to tackle upcoming english exam

And in regards to this, I've got no idea. BOS can be either cruel or kind with this one. It's easier to prepare for Belonging so that you're covered either way as its only the one essay you're doing in Paper 1. I'd definitely prepare your Belonging essay with 2 related texts. The key is to...

Best way to tackle upcoming english exam

Trust me, EVERYONE is always nervous for English, especially since its usually the first HSC exam for most people haha. Don't worry you'll be fine. When you start reading time, there is no doubt gunna be a minute when you start FREAKING THE HELL OUT if things look strange. Just imagine how my...

Best way to tackle upcoming english exam

I like the way you think! Yeah depending on your ability at English it definitely would be better to not memorise the intro, but rather just have a rough idea of what you'd like to include.

Best way to tackle upcoming english exam

Just to point out Lucas, its definitely fine to memorise the introduction and conclusion. I do get what you mean, but yeah, I memorised that as well and was still able to just add that stupid "connecting to the question" sentence. Obviously it has to be interwoven though. But like I said, I...

Best way to tackle upcoming english exam

The amount of people who do that is really amazing haha. If you're REALLY stumped in the exam coz they've thrown a question at you thats just fucked, thats the best thing to do if you start freaking out and cant write anything. You could possibly get a marker that dosnt know much about those...

Best way to tackle upcoming english exam

If anyone needs example essays to look at, I'm happy to send mine through. I think I still have them. Module A: "Pride & Prejudice" and "Letters to Alice" (Letters to Alice made me want to stab myself in the face -_-) Module B: Yeats' Poetry (Best part about this was everyone pissing...

Best way to tackle upcoming english exam

Thanks! Absolutely agree btw, you cant JUST write word-for-word what you've memorised; you definitely have to mention the question in there throughout. But in all honesty, it really was basically me writing the question in a sentence or two, sometimes re-worded, throughout the essay, and wasn't...

Best way to tackle upcoming english exam

Haha thanks =) It does take time, and you'll legit spend what seems like FOREVER trying to memorise it all. But in my opinion it is worth it. I think for me it took about 1-2 days to memorise one essay, but I know I've got a fairly good memory and other people can take longer which is fine, as...

Best way to tackle upcoming english exam

Bullshit. Not to sound conceited, but I completed the HSC last year and I memorised word-for-word (NO JOKE!) every single essay for both Advanced and Extension 1 English. Generally, this is where people would go all "...but then you cant answer the question properly!!!!" The questions they...

    UNSW "bonus" points ????

Wow...0.o You're over-thinking this a lot. There's nothing dodgy about the bonus-point scheme at all which, by the way, has been around for a while. As someone already said, bonus points are awarded automatically and dont need to be applied for. And no, the cut-off wouldnt be "realistically...

What marks do i need with these subjects to get band 6 atar?

Haha no unfortunately, didn't get a state rank for Senior Science. I was actually really surprised with my results all up...my thought was that I "should be able to get a 74 ATAR" so I could get into my first preference. Thats because I always under-estimate myself, and always over-estimate...

What marks do i need with these subjects to get band 6 atar?

Same here. Not to sound stuck up or anything, but I got an Atar of 94 with HSC Marks of; Adv.English: 94 Ext.1 English: 44/50 Biology: 89 Senior Science: 96 Modern History: 86 Japanese: 84 And these marks just go to show, if you screw up a couple assessment tasks, it isn't too big of a deal...

What marks do i need with these subjects to get band 6 atar?

If you were good at English and did Standard for that reason, you'd be incredibly stupid imo. Honestly, if hypothetically you were that good, you should do Ext.1 as well because both subjects I personally found incredibly easy to get good marks, as for me it was all memorisation.

What marks do i need with these subjects to get band 6 atar?

Yeah I get what you're saying. I was trying to focus on more how people say some subjects are shit so if you do those you wont get a good ATAR, which is purely 100% untrue.
  15. A

What marks do i need with these subjects to get band 6 atar?

This is kinda true. The majority of people who do really well in Standard English are those that get 85+, purely because it is much harder to get a Band 6 in the subject compared to HSC Advanced English. This is because HSC English Paper 1 is common to both Standard and Advanced students, so...

What marks do i need with these subjects to get band 6 atar?

I know aye! Honestly, it does bug me how some people go ON AND ON about how its the most important thing on the face of the Earth...it's not, and you cant control it 0.o It's the same with kids who freak out because they're "only coming 2nd" or go all "I just got 89% now I cant get a 90+ ATAR"...

What marks do i need with these subjects to get band 6 atar?

I'm sure you mean a 90+ ATAR =P Honestly, your subjects are fine. I did my HSC last year with a mix of subjects and did very well, if I can say so myself. I mean, come on, I got 96 for Senior Science which is supposed to be "hard-to-get"...not because the subject is hard but because its a "poor...

    Textbook Editions?

Yeah Im not even gunna bother buying the seemingly useless books that they list as "recommended". I really dont think I'm going to need a "Dictionary of Biological Terms", especially at $79.95...-__- The subjects Im doing are pretty upfront in regards to having an obvious central textbook thank god

    Textbook Editions?

Haha yeah I completely get what you mean, I'm doing that for the majority of my subjects. But I've just managed to compare a few textbook lists from previous years, and on the Uni website itself, and they're all stating the same books. I'm just getting in a bit early for one of them as I have...

    Textbook Editions?

I literally just now found a video on youtube haha, that highlights the "new features" of the 9th Edition. The textbook is Campbell's Biology, the Australian Version 9th Edition. My sister has the same textbook, except that its the 8th Edition. It looks like the 8th was printed in 2009, and the...
