haha, thats what the creepy old men do when perving on the girls queued up at smokeshop (thees a bench just at the front there). Gap scan is an inventory process that needs to be done everyday to verify inventory numbers on particular lines of stock. Basically, if any product has no stock...

Was a little bit irritating at first. but am now pretty much used to it. Been pretty quiet since after Xmas, so not complaining really. Whose working Australia Day this coming monday? Im doing 10-7 woo!

Can understand not wanting to work NYE (its a REALLY busy trading day), but not wanting to work NYD? Hell yes i am. 8 hours of glorious double-time-and-a-half pay (pub hol shifts are pretty much the ONLY perk we have). Thankfully got out of opening lol. So have a few precious hours after...

So, rocked up at work today to find that Woolworths is apparently celebrating its 90th birthday lol. Did YOUR store celebrate the 'festivities' in any way, shape or form?? For us, bakery did their thing and whipped up a massive green cake which was nice. Then we did the whole customary staff...

    What have you eaten today?

Birthday cake. Was it any good? Sadly … no.

At our store, store manager, ASM, department managers and duty managers all have the black name badge including CSM and service 2IC. Thing is, hardly any of them ever wear it lol. Really is a non-issue anyway cause you don't want crazies, derros, oldies etc to start knowing you on a first-name...

Thats massive. You'd have to be top 3 in your state easy. One time, the store manager came to the checkouts and had the sales trading figures for the area and state in his hand. Think the biggest store was doing around $3.1mil/wk (so theres a reference number). Our store wasn't even in the...

Nope. Sounds like your team manager is one of those micromanaging, power-tripping types who like to assert their "authority" at every available instance. For us on checkouts, breaks are just roughly taken when its around that time (written down into a grid beforehand). While breaks don't get...

No cause for concern mate, annual leave is pretty much,GUARANTEED to be paid out to you by woolies, even if you were terminated due to inappropriate conduct (both parties have entered into your EBA agreement, so they can't break there side of it). Also, just anecdotally, had a mate who got the...

Don't know if the following is a 'correct procedure', but this is the way i've been doing it. You take the latest over/short register printout with you to whatever register you'll be counting to check how much it was out by last night or last time it was counted. You then go into supervisor...

Could be a possibility with the current Woolworths EBA is due to expire next year (June 2015). So the unions will have to refresh and renegotiate alot of conditions such as employee job title classifications. Lets hope the award still protects workers rights cause businesses are already pushing...

Do you have another job or a secondary income (e.g. occasionally sell stuff on ebay?). If you do, then the tax office could dock you cause your increased 'total' income will push you into a higher tax bracket. But yeah, give them a call during weekdays, they do answer and will look up your tax...

Pretty sure, casual loading is at 20% of the permanent wage rate. Basically its to compensate casuals who don't get to accumulate any entitlements like sick leave, annual leave and so on. Therefore they recieve a slightly higher take-home wage each week. With the incorrect tobacco/smokes...

Lets see, having a look at the Woolworths EBA it looks like you'd be earning: $19.84/hr for the first 4 months during probationary period, then it rises to $20.88. Because you're 19yo, you'll be paid 80% of the full adult rate listed above but it'll soon become 100% once you turn 20.

In simple terms, there's very little you can do about it. Let's hypothetically say you had just successfully caught a shoplifter, called up loss prevention who then detain said party until the police arrives. All that would happen is a "criminal infringement notice" i.e a slap-on-the-wrist ~$200...

At our store, all department managers have a black managers badge but in reality they'll only wear them when state or area managers are around for inspections, audits and so forth. Night service supervisor service only has a regular name badge as they aren't a "manager", neither does...

Leo Burnett as the new woolies advertising agency = fail! All of it is shiny, marketing fluff. Attention to detail somewhat lacking. Where to begin - Frontend staff wearing produce shirts (oops); Recieving dock stockhand wearing DC outfits (nope); Store manager opening the roller door (since...

Still nothing on corecomms guys. But this article helps gives insight as to what might happen on come Friday: Full Article Here: http://www.applianceretailer.com.au/2014/07/retailers-customers-ready-credit-card-pins-become-mandatory-signatures-phased/

Haven't read corecomms, but i did here mention of plenty of signage at all points-of-sale (including SCO and express) to remind customers that credit -> sign is no longer an accepted payment method. And that all terminals will have temporary "pin wise" displays stuck on them to further explain...

Anyone noticing that a substantial number of customers are STILL signing when paying by credit card instead of pin or paypass?? Gonna be lolz come this Friday the 1st when they won't be able to pay. Oh and i wouldn't want to be heading to the bank that day either. :cool2: Hopefully they all...
