The same as on a PC. Bootcamp runs natively.

    The libertarian compromise

Name one policy Howard implemented that was worse for Australian civil liberties than what Rudd's doing now.

Looking for a laptop that likes being used over 10 hours a day..?

Don't touch HP man :( Even if it's an extra $100 or more get a Dell or ASUS.

    best laptops under 2k?

You can't reliably hackintosh 90% of laptops, and once you do you're often only one update away from breaking your installation.

Looking for a laptop that likes being used over 10 hours a day..?

Buy a three year warranty. It costs $180 off ebay. After 3 years it's about time to replace anyway. Secondly it's not about the appearance, bells or whistles, it's about usability.

    A new laptop.

    Still shits all over HP.

Looking for a laptop that likes being used over 10 hours a day..?

By which you mean it's free cause you're a twit if you don't have it under warranty, right? Buy a macbook. The UI is fantastic, the customer service is generally decent and the trackpad shits all over anything else you'll find.

    A new laptop.

    Dell come to your house.

Enroling in Elec. Eng. subjects as a science student

Why would you do that? EE is the hardest shit out.

    A new laptop.

Dell customer services outstrips HP by an order of magnitude. For a start they actually have staff in Australia.

    Macbook Vs iMac

It's the best and most intuitive user experience out. MBP 13" aren't much more than equivalent PCs either, and built a whole lot more solidly with 1000x more battery life. Also RE: Apple's prices on new laptops, they're entirely determined by the exchange rate.

    Macbook Vs iMac

Go a macbook. If you need a screen to go with it you can get those for <$300 for a 24" panel.

So what's the best antivirus to download?

You've mixed your analogies. What you're saying is that if you're a member of Anatidae but you don't waddle or quack (qualities people have come to expect from ducks), you're not a duck. I'm not the one who implied the certification was terribly important, I was just correcting our friend here...

So what's the best antivirus to download?

You're right, I do have no idea. I've only been using Linux since before you knew how to read, clearly not enough time to recognise that a distribution with 3 distinct web browsers included (one of which alone has at least as many security holes appear as webkit) is actually the epitome of...

Paying for uni? HECS vs Upfront payment

You'd only need to make 10% back for it to be viable to pay it all the second you leave the gates, and assuming a 3 year course anything above 3% makes it viable for the first year at the very least.

So what's the best antivirus to download?

That's entirely wrong. The default user account settings require a password dialogue or sudo command before you make any system wide changes, the same way you would when running as a non root user in Linux. Further, the 10.5-10.6 kernels have both been unix certified (which Linux is not). Any...

Paying for uni? HECS vs Upfront payment

Putting $3500 down a semester would have been equally annoying, but you'd be paying less now if you'd put that away somewhere to go towards the mortgage than if you paid your hecs upfront.

Paying for uni? HECS vs Upfront payment

You'd be paying more extra interest on that mortgage than you'd pay in hecs contributions if you chose to pay the money towards hecs instead of saving it and needing to borrow less to buy a home.
