Also, with starting too early, there's the possible issue of burning out + falling complacent as the year goes by.

In regards to this, I read in one of those "Secrets to HSC Success" books that there are many people who succeeded and got 95+ ATARs without starting in the holidays. So don't think you're at some fatalistic disadvantage if you don't start early.

Definitely take the job! I've found that time expands when we have too much of it. Basically meaning that the more time we have, the less efficiently we tend to use it.

I did this for Legal and got 23/25. BUT only because it was based around one topic. Cramming one topic during an all-nighter is possible. DON'T do this for your prelims or yearlies. Your brain can only hold so much.

Obviously, your ATAR and Year 12 marks, but what about everything you've did from Year 7 to 11?

I had my English Ext. exam today. I find it fairly easy to improvise on the spot, which is what I did. Also, my teacher didn't like the dark ending to my prepared story, and I wasn't bothered to change it, so I just trashed it and winged one on the spot with the help of the stimulus and my own...

Do you rote learn English Extension? Like, prepare a creative in advance and adapt it to the stimulus? Good luck, by the way!
