  1. Q

    Mathematics Course

Did you do any maths in year 11? What degree do you intend to do?
  2. Q

    Self teaching maths viable?

Lmfao actually yes - I love helping my friends do their degree plans
  3. Q

    Self teaching maths viable?

Not Math 1B (MATH1231) but Fundamentals of Maths B (MATH1011). Math1b comes later
  4. Q

    Self teaching maths viable?

If u go to UNSW just do MATH1011 before enrolling in the normal maths courses to get u up to speed. It won’t pull back ur degree progression but you’d get a more solid footing in maths compared to a bridging course.
  5. Q

    Subject Selection Help

^^ agreed, better to do very well in business studies than meh in economics
  6. Q

    Subject Selection Help

The scaling is the exact same. The *alignment* is different. According to NESA, the same HSC mark indicates the same level of English ability i.e. a 90 in either subject is comparable. They scale them identically since this the case. However, standard is not easier than advanced - it is merely...
  7. Q

    Neuroscience @ unsw or usyd?

Honestly you won’t be getting much credit out of the Infosys degree either way so USyd isn’t a bad idea. Might be good to get a fresh start. For t3, maybe enrol in a couple of the foundation science units like Chem 1A or something so you can get some credits at usyd.
  8. Q

Doing Extension 2 Math Year 12

    Yep you’re exactly right.
  9. Q

    Neuroscience @ unsw or usyd?

What is your current degree at UNSW? I would be inclined to say just stick at UNSW otherwise you might have to repeat a bunch of similar units.
  10. Q

    HELP CHOOSING SUBJECTS

Arguably more important for stuff like electro engo lmao… actuarial studies only do 2 math classes
  11. Q

    Selective school

    Oh jk I'm blind
  12. Q

    Selective school

Ok so I've noted that you're looking at Normo or Tech which are on opposite sides of the world. I would consider a balance between travel and selective tbh - no point travelling for 2 hrs each way for something that won't really benefit you much at all. Every region has a reasonable SS.
  13. Q

    Help with linear equations homework

Just note that if you ever go onto further maths, the 2nd way is much neater when you extend to 3d etc.
  14. Q

    Chance at 98+?

Why didn’t u do IB it’s easier to get high high marks there
  15. Q

    Predicted ATAR and Marks

I will note that the raw marks refer to the raw HSC exam marks, not the in-school weighted marks, so they’re probably not the most accurate (don’t want to rain on ur parade by don’t go in expecting 97 lol). Try looking at your schools band 6 count and “guessing” the ballpark where your HSC marks...
  16. Q

    changing courses

Hmm yeah unlikely. If you want to be a lawyer/study law, legal studies isn't a requirement so you defs don't *need* to be put into legal. You can still kindly ask the school admin to see what they can do, but yeah you're not entitled to a switch.
  17. Q

    changing courses

    from what?
  18. Q

    changing courses

Can you tell us the actual subjects? It's relatively easy to jump into a humanities subject like society and culture but maybe a bit harder for like economics
  19. Q

    changing courses

It’s up to the discretion of the principal. It depends on what they think, and your circumstances. What subjects are you planning on switching? They may be quite happy to let you go from 2U math to General or Bio to Investigating Science but probably won’t let you go from Chemistry to Legal...
  20. Q

    How we goin

Wtf is Fourier doing in MX2?
