Provided you don't install too much crap onto it, they are useful, but the small screen is a downside; eyes tire easily IMO. Netbook keyboards can be a bitch, if you do get one try and aim for one with the most confortable keyboard. Or you can just wire up an external keyboard if you want to.

You could always try it and drop it too. My case was similar to yours; everyone was doing a humanity so I thought I might do business studies. Big mistake IMO.
