can anyone please explain to me what is independent trial?

my mx1 teacher is crazy, she makes the hardest exams ever, in the half yearly, the highest mark was 66, no one finished the test. 3rd assessment was pretty easy though, lost a mark for not writing a "proper" induction statement.

I don't know how to explain this exactly but if u do not come first, they do standard deviation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_deviation so you get an internal mark according to your position relative to the performance of the rest of your cohort, so if u attend a really bad school, like...

what ever mark you get in the actual HSC will be counted towards ur atar. internals are the ones that change.

Sleep at least 8 hours the night before the test, trust me u'll do better in the test this way. I normally take diacetylmorphine but it isn't that effective TBH.

im saying if u come first the external mark of the guy who comes first in the hsc will be counted as ur internal but YOUR actual external will still be counted in calculated ur ATAR. for example, if u come first in the internal and the person that comes first in the external gets 90 ur internal...
