Is it too late to apply for special consideration with HSC?

I don't think there is any way to change your HSC marks, but you could apply for Educational Access Scheme: http://www.uac.edu.au/eas/ You have to submit evidence (doctor's certificates etc.) about how you have been disadvantaged (e.g./ mental illness has caused you to miss school, loose...

General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2

Ex-Hscers say when you've done English, you feel like you've done the HSC. Anyone feel like this?

General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2

Arrgh, I have no idea, we didn't even cover that in class. But it sounds like the right scene..with Claudius or something? Well at least Eng is done forever.

General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2

Did anyone else reference the Hamlet quote to another character (not Hamlet?) ...or am I the only one? :(

What kind of tea do you like?

Peppermint, Cammomile, Green tea, Jasmine, Lavender, Rose, Yorkshire....

Anyone doing 3 major work subjects for Year 12?

I've got friends who did three, and it is humanly possible but you have to be really organised. Personally, I'd avoid 3 but for some people they pace themselves and don't regret it, I guess it comes down to personality. Ancient His is massive, be forewarned,it is very content heavy and relies on...

    Anxious all the time...

Like others have said, don't be ashamed to go see a counsellor and also look into applying for Special Provisions if you are still to do the HSC. To do this you just have to get a letter from your GP and you could get up to 5 mins rest time during exams. Take magnesium tablets, they are...

Any good reads you can recommend before the HSC?

I read around topics with a vague eye out for possible related texts. In a way, in year 11 I would just enjoy reading whatever book you want to, it's something you really come to miss doing the HSC.

Final Atar Estimate - updated, better info, please check it out!!

Hi Guys, I tried to do this before but now the info is much better, thanks to OzKo's advice so please if anyone can give me an estimate that would be great. Thanks BoSers. Adv. Eng - half yearlies = 87%, trials = 77% rank 9/101 (Band 6s in 2013: 36/99) Ancient His- half yearlies = 80%...

:spin:Hi guys, I'd really love an atar estimate! Adv. Honest opinion - what distinguishes each college?

Hi guys, I've just been to ANU open day and I'm still unsure about which college is best, so what is your honest opinion? I'm interested in doing History, and going catered, so far I gather Johns is a no go, but what about Ursies, Burgman or Bruce? What distinguishes them? I'm not really...

Does the HSC determine how smart you are. Discuss.

Absolutely not. My fav teacher quit school in year 10, now she's a really engaging, passionate and bright history teacher. Smart kids can fail HSC and not so smart ones (if you are organised and determined) can do well, like BLIT2014 said.

    Too many humanities subjects?

I'm doing all humanities (in year 12 now) and I don't regret it at all! Although it's not the most all-rounded subject selection, if that's where your interests lie, then go for it. Especially in HSC year you will find lots of your subjects may overlap, like Modern History 'Cold War' and...

Are you studying BA? Please give advice!

Not 100% sure, maybe teaching, but I don't want to commit to education, and BA just seems to have all the hummanities I'm interested in. Employment for BA (or lack of) is obviously a bit of a joke so a teaching diploma after is probably the way I'll go.

Are you studying BA? Please give advice!

:read: Hi guys, I'm a year 12 student probably going to apply for Bachelor of Arts at Sydney next year, but a bit lost about which subjects to do. If are doing BA, any advice would be great, such as subject and unit reviews, and ones to avoid, etc.... Any subjects are useful but...

    Roll Call: Class of 2014

Hello, I'm greengirl01, mainly because people say 'green' to mean 'has no idea what they are doing'!! I'm hoping that will change as I'm aiming for an atar above 90 and to survive this coming year (mostly) alive... Advanced Eng, Modern Hist, Ancient Hist, French Continuers, French Ext, Visual...
