It's funny that no one's answered your question yet, they've just told you what you need to get, which is about 50-55%. But in an answer to your question i don't think you'll make 70 with those ranks. You've got 12 units so you're better off studying for your other subjects

Most past papers I've looked at have asked for a creative writing piece where you are able to write in any form you like. I hope that's the way it is tomorrow, most of my story is a letter but it is adaptable if they ask for a specific text type.
I've done 97-08 papers in maths, for the other subjects i don't really do many past papers. But for the humanities, I look at which essays they've asked recently and how often they ask questions on certain topics eg. for economics they haven't asked an essay on Microeconomic policy since 2002
you can write 1300 words if you want, but they only expect 700-1000. The HSC markers i know constantly stress quality over quantity, but for some reason most students cannot get this into their head
