It really depends on the individual and the subjects one does. But I can tell you about my personal experience. I did easy peasy subjects (bus, legl, st.eng, gen.maths, PDHPE) and cramming worked wonders for me. Throughout the year, I hardly studied for more than 2 hours a day (I'm NOT joking)...

I got 86 (HSC mark) for Standard English. It's not that hard people! Just know your techniques and effects for all your texts really well. I chose Standard because Advanced English doesn't scale up, and I'm not the biggest fan of Shakespeare. Band 5 in Standard English is totally achieveable...

Mint Crisp Tim Tam O.m.g it is DISGUSTING. I don't get it, how can anyone stand that crap. I never touch it. One friend brought a packet to a picnic once and man it was a nightmare. I stick to the original Tim Tam or caramel Tim Tams. Ohhh caramel Tim Tam (as straw) + coffee = pure heaven.:D
