Well, you could just delete them ;). Or if you got an installer file, run it and see if there's an uninstall option (or use the add/remove programs control panel). There might even be an uninstaller in the program folder. Really, it's the same as you would usually do to uninstall a game you got...

I just use a relatively cheap ($30 from big w :p) logitech wireless mouse. Works fine for me. By the way, your mum's current mouse will most likely work again if you take the whole thing apart and clean underneath and around the scroll ball. Be warned though, they don't go back together...
