Unless you're planning to double major you probably can count all of your first year arts subjects as free electives in commerce if you transfer. Otherwise seeing that you'd like your first year subjects to count, I'd suggest enrolling into an arts course and three of the compulsory commerce...

Jap ext is between the n4 - 3 mark, but for both levels the amount of kanji you need to know is far more than what is prescribed in the hsc syllabus.

Best to check your school's results last year, see how many got above 99. What was the highest atar last year and the year before? Either way your friend would need to aim for 1st in everything

Anyone know which level would be best to sit for if I only did the continuers course? I know that there's a lot of kanji to catch up to since you don't learn enough at school, but is the vocab and structures prescribed in the syllabus enough for N3?
