In previous years 83-85 was a state rank and usually 90-93 was top of the state, do you guys think it'll increase or stay the same for this year?

Hey so i was just wondering considering this years difficult paper 1 and challenging paper 2, what do you guys think the raw mark for a band 6 in standard will be this year?? Hoping its 85-88/105, or is that unrealistic?

Fair enough, and im pretty sure that if you come first internally and get the best HSC marks you will get first in state irregardless of what your internal mark was. Am i correct or no??

So i was just wondering, to get a first in the state, must you rank first internally as well??? Or if you just get outright 1st in HSC will you get it?

Oh, ok so as long as no one goes worse than expected you should get 50% of either mark or higher depending on how good everyone went.

Ok so say we have 5 people on 93,91,88,85 and 83. All of them get relatively the same marks for HSC except the 85 person gets 95. Now will the 85 person get 90, or will they only get 87ish and everyone else gets pushed up with them?

So really, if you are behind first and get a really good mark, they will take a larger share of it? So lets take my 2 unit for example, i am 6th and averaging 85%, and ranks 3 tp 8 are doing about the same. But rank 1 and 2 are way ahead on like 95%. Now is it even possible for me to get a band...

No i just thought that due to the large gap that i wouldn't be able to up my mark unless i got an extremely good mark, such as a state rank

Say we both get low 90s, will i get a band 6 or will i be pushed down. Because i really wany to try and get a band 6 but if its practically impossible without getting a state rank im not sure i should put so much time.

So im just curious how your ranks affect your final marks? I have a relative idea but am not completely sure. Say i am coming 2nd for a subject at around 80% with 3rd, 4th etc are relatively close. First has a big gap of about ~10-15%. Can i still get a band 6 mark in the HSC or will my rank not...

Yes i understand that, but say my rank is 1st and i achieve a much higher mark in HSC than school but the cohort does about the same, what mark do i get? Internal+external/2 or external? And if so does that mean as long as you are first onternally do you basically get whatever your HSC mark is...

Ok so say my internal mark is 90 and HSC is 96, and 2nd gets 85 internal and 85 HSC, would i get 90 overall or 93?

Hi im currently doing my HSC and was wondering how much of an impact school marks really have. Say i come first for a subject and get a mark of ~93 and the receding marks are ~90, 88, 87, 86, 85, 80,75 etc (something like that). Say in the HSC i were to get 95, and the others got their marks...

Hi, im hopefull i a future student at UNSW interested in this scholarship. I have a few questions: 1. My prelim marks were poor to say the least (19% in adv maths, 45% in physics, 60% stand eng, pd and engineering) but my HSC marks are 95 for maths and physics, 90s for english and engineerknh...

But i know people in previous years that did 3 sciences, general and advanced, (1st in all but advanced eng) and only got a band 6in general and got ~95. Last year in fact. So how would i only get an 85, is there an ATAR calculator i van use that takes into account school and ranks???

85!!!! Thats horrendus!! Im getting ~95% in physics and maths, ~90% in english and engineering and ~80% in PDHPE, could it really take me down that much?!?!?!
